Missing too many against Souths I think and we've seen a far bit now to suggest how good that team is on average. Have beaten every top 5 side they've played so far this year

Blair Bell and Brady Grey made a big difference.

I only watched a half, but it was probably the best I’ve seen Treacy play in a long while. He actually looked quite quick, and he was clean with his hands picking the ball up. There was one in the last quarter where he gathered one hand and sold candy to his opponent in the same movement and ran down the wing.

I did consider whether we could use him as a big bodied mid rather than as a CHF

He's definitely getting some of that confidence back that he seemed to lose after round 1 AFL. Seems pretty conclusive at this point his best spot is as that roaming CHF at least who gets up and around the ground, the Nick Riewoldt role basically. I'm convinced there is a quality AFL player in there if he can be used right

isnt that jackson's position!

That could actually work, Having Jackson and Treacy together around the centre bounce at least gives us some size. First bounce vs the Roos Clarko put Cunnington, LDU and Zurhaar in the first centre bounce, 3 bulls and they set the tone from the very first bounce.

Since people keep bringing up Davies having however many kicked on him by Jefferson last year, think the kid needs his dues. Can see why we liked him as he gets better every week at WAFL. I'm not sure I've seen him fumble once, he's a one touch player with decent skills and an angry campaigner to boot. Once he puts on some size he'll be quality I think

Agree. There's definitely something there with the way he plays and the spirit in which he goes about it. I've noticed it at training too.

Prone to a brain fade though, he had one in the third (I think) where he was on the half back line with a mark, turned in board and just kicked it, went straight to an east Perth player and there was no peel player within 10 or 15 metres, I genuinely had to rewind to check what he was trying to do

Anyway the east Perth player ran into an open goal and missed, so it didn't hurt us

Yeah, i'll let a couple of those slide a game for now

One thing I will say about Wagner is he did show some of the elite kicking skills he is purported to have in this game. Doesn't look defensively sound enough to play back though Atm. Maybe we could use his kicking skills up the ground to greater effect.

I'd rather take someone who can intercept and kick as a junior and teach them to punch the ball and stay on someone's shoulder. Much easier than the other way around.

Jackson can play deep. Treacy shouldn't miss out because of Jackson. He isn't doing enough to warrant that. Besides we were too short up forward especially when either Amiss or Jackson led up onto the wings
Jackson needs to learn how to take a contested mark. he has concrete hands

Make him a crumbing Fwd and see what he does in the wafl.

I'm interested where Hall goes in the draft. He's acquitting himself well at WAFL, has a great size and about him with a nice bit of pace but his disposal is really really suspect. That ball drops from his chest when he's on the run.
At this stage I have him as probably being drafted but after pick 40. I am not crash hot about the disposal either (particularly for one who kicks more than he handballs) but his movement is really good (It would surprise if he has a good set of test results) and he is putting up consistent WAFL senior game numbers that are reasonable for a young player, and probably show off decent endurance.

What was the reason Chad Warner slippEd to pick 37 in 2019 when he should have been top 3 in hindsight. Was it dodgy disposal? I wonder if Hall is in the same bracket?

I'm pretty sure it was widely acknowledged Warner's disposal was good but I cant remember what had him going so low, might have been size and production? I dont think he got much of a gig in the middle for WA

I'd almost see him as an Ed Langdon, like his disposal is REALLY bad and not in the easily fixable version of bad either. I wouldnt mind him, but yeah, cant see how a team would use a top 30 pick on him

Really don’t want to see anymore guys with rubbish disposal coming in. It’s such a ceiling on what they can achieve. If we have Karl Worner why would we get this guy in to do the same thing?
Unless he has some seriously elite traits elsewhere in his game that is.

The big difference is he's definitely got a good turn of pace and agility as well as a really good frame to build a strong body on (his shoulders aren't Ginbey level but they're big). Watch the Peel game from the weekend if you get a chance and remember the kid is 17.
