Not to mention urinals. Damn important issue in a footy venue.
Better use these ones so they have soul:

Awards, clearly important for you, I just want a bloody good venue to watch my footy - Subi did the job in its day.
It still does it's job. So does Joondalup. So does the local park.

And? So why waste tax payers money?

Im not sure if i should continue the car analogy or do the stadium itself.

Both work, but neither are fit for purpose anymore.

Subiaco breaks several standards for emergency egress and is horribly under catered for toilet amenities... just to start the list of major inadequacies. Its time to upgrade it given we are living in a first world country and should be pretending to follow first world standards.

How about we upgrade aboriginal communities to first world first

A relevant point if building the stadium was why Aboriginal people have been left in third world conditions, or if you suppose government can only do one thing at a time.

A politician addressing a problem & fixing it - well done to MacMan.
:thumbsu: common sense 101.

But Premier McGowan told the Sunday Times the delay and cost blow-out was necessary in order to secure almost 250 new Perth-based jobs.

"This is a significant win for WA and the best outcome for the local economy," he said.

"We are securing new local jobs and have renegotiated a complex contract to give us the best chance to have the bridge delivered in time to coincide with [the] opening of the stadium.

"Maximising WA jobs must be the focus for all major works undertaken by the State Government.

WA Tourism numbers & projections can be hard to accept for the cynic in me but they've got support with a new $40 mil hotel to be build between the Airport & CBD:
The Wyndham LUX Perth, to open late next year on the corner of Great Eastern Highway and Fitzroy Road in Rivervale is within 6km of the CBD, the WA Cricket Ground and Perth Stadium and walking distance to the Swan River and Crown casino.

The 120-room hotel will be managed by Resort Management by Wyndham, taking to 12 the number of properties it is managing across Australia.
“We are strategically expanding our flagship Wyndham brand in capital cities like Perth where there is low supply but increasing demand for upscale accommodation,” Wyndham Hotel Group South-East Asia and Pacific Rim president Barry Robinson said.

The group cited Tourism WA data showing a 12.4 per cent growth in international visitors for the year ending December.

So by the looks of that picture, the ticketing entrances are at river level, then the entrance to the actual stadium (and restaurant in the photo) are up a flight of steps or a ramp.
I assume the queues trying to get through security will be outside these ticketing booths.

WA Tourism numbers & projections can be hard to accept

Especially when their statistics are based on small samples.
You've got to wonder what WA Tourism is thinking.
They currently run "just another day in WA" in WA. Why WA, isn't the idea to promote WA to people outside of WA ?
Seemingly "just another day in WA" is the Margaret River and a Wallabies game!!!!
There are places other than Margaret River and a one-off rugby game, please ????

they've got support with a new $40 mil hotel

Massive massive oversupply of hotels a.t.m. in Perth and it's only going to get worse as construction is finished.
Of course that is absolutely perfect for visitors and the new stadium.

International tourism is up in Perth a little due to new airlines but domestic tourism is way down.
One day, Tourism WA will join the dots and advertise AFL as a highlight - maybe.
