Nick Wynne (Oakleigh Chargers) is an absolute gun and a shoe in to make the Vic Metro side. 190cm, 88 kg - bench presses 95 kg and runs a 14.5 beep. He is captain of Xavier College and won their goal kicking and runner up in best & fairest behind Josh Kennedy (now Hawthorn) last year.

Is a CHF of the Lucas (Ess) mould who takes a lot of marks and covers a large distance. He can switch to defence, where he beat several key players last year including Sherwen (Scotch) and Ellis (MGS - now Hawks)

His uncle Brian Gleeson won a brownlow for St Kilda. His current coaches - John Kennedy Jnr (Hawks) and Ian Aitken (Carl) say that he has impressive leadership to go with his good hands and good motor. Definately one to watch in the draft at the end of the year.

I would also have John Shaw (Sandringham) - Ruckman/Tall forward (197cm) who is one of their two 19 year olds in. A lot of people were surprised he didn't get picked up last year, but then there was an overabundance of ruckmen in last years draft - Leunberger, Sellar, Dawes, Renouf etc...

Also Christian Sanfillipo (Northern Knights) is a super quick ball magnet who kicks bags of goals. Four times in the APS last year he kicked bags of 5 or more in the midfield. He played some awesome games for Knights last year on the wing and has the quickest handball to a running target I've seen for a long time.

well then alex goodingham from dandenong stingrays should be in it becasue he is 190cm max benches 96kg and just ran a 15.2 in the v.i.s testing, also played vic metro with cotchin, maric, adams, gaertner
all should go next year

Not a bad effort Big Echuca. I would not have picked Jordan Florance in the best 22 but i understand Jordan is from that area (Echuca) so you may know more then we do and would have probably given a teamate of his Blair Holmes at least an Emergency position (Massive wraps on him from people who count). Henderson Normington and McEvoy to me are the best of the 22 selected and look for Tarrant, Donaldson and Simpson to really impress in there positions.

yes good call on holmes...i did mean to put him in but must have just forgot him, i rember having him on the wing to start with but then probably thought there were other players suited to the wing better eg. houlihan and martineilo...blair does at least deserve a spot in the 22 though...

i also thought having the 3 big men, in florence, simpson and mcevoy could work too rotating those three through the ruck bench and forward line..

all in all though think ive got it about right, although havent seen much of the bottom agers other than selwood, dangerfield and martineilo...so there could be more 17 yr olds make the team???

Can We have some more details on this players??

just a few profiles on some of the vic country boys

Jayden Donaldson - about 188cm and 85kg, strong player with huge kick and strong hands, can actually play forward or back and even through the midfield, very versitile player with size and good skills.

Grant Ford - about 182cm and 80kg, good skills and knows how to win his own ball inside and outside the contest.

Scott Selwood - about 184cm and 75kg, super fit and hard at the contest, similar player to joel but posesses more leg speed. has great leadership skills and makes good decisions when directing team mates.

Ryan Normington - about 186cm and 77kg, excellent player, fit, good skills (raking left foot) and very elusive. hard to man up on as is very competitive in the air and on ground level.

Will Martineilo - about 176cm and 70kg, 17 this year, stiff not to make ais last year after very impressive u16 championships. agile smart wingman who can win the ball and use it to great effect.

Matt Austin - about 188cm and 76kg, fast player with strong hands and capable of kicking freak goals, can kick a bag on his day and rarely has a bad game.

Robbie Tarrant - about 196cm and 90kg, good on the lead and good skills on either side of his body, strong player with a big future and seen to have a really good work ethic.

Daniel Boyle - about 186cm and 76kg, freakish leg speed. capable of running down opponents and backs himself when he has the ball, elusive player uses his speed to great advantage.

Ben McEvoy - about 199cm and 83kg, great ruckman and key position player. could be used at either position as is very athletic and has strong hands. also a good fitness base.

Dawson Simpson - about 204cm and 88kg, a good tap ruckman who uses his size to full effect. can drift forward and take marks inside fifty too.

Ashley Hockey - about 182cm and 75kg, great skills and a handy running outside midfielder, knows how to use the footy.

Jordan Florence - about 200cm and 90kg, put on weight and built up strength over the preseason while also keeping a good fitness base, can be used as a second ruckman or key position.

Blair Holmes - about 180cm and 80kg, hard at it footballer, tackles hard and hits the contest hard. leads by example and has a good work ethic. hard player to match up on as he is so strong through his hips, breaks a lot of tackles.

Highly rate that side there Big Echuca, Few things..

Firstly how is big Florence going along i take insterest in this kid?
Do you think Blair should push up ground more?
Also three way swap, Warnett on Wing, Martinello on interchange and Tuohey Emergency?

Just your thoughts as you seem to have a good knowlodge on them.. i think Warnett would be more agile and explosive on a wing than Martinello but he defiently deserves a place in the team?

Florence is going along well, his body is probably in the best shape its been, has been doing serious strength training which i feel he really benefit from this year.

I think its a tough one with blair and grant ford, they are both good running players so its hard to say who youd play on the flank, do agree with you on that one though.

Warnett, haven't seen any of the practise games this preseason so not sure how hes going...the kid can play though, but lets face it, it's a pretty evenly balanced team and anyone in that 25 probably has good reason to be in the 22...

do rate martinello though, his only trouble is he's a bit short but he's proven at senior level for benella that size means very little.

thanks 4 that big echuca...totally agree...no both boys very well from around that area and they have worked there arses off during the preseason and can hopefully reap the rewards

Do have it in one there about Blair and Grant... I havnt seen Blair play in long time so that why i was a little uncertain on his progress.
I saw one Practice match for the bushrangers and from what i have been told Warnett missed the earlier part of Pre season due to an ankle injury and did play through the whole game but is back into things now and played well on the weekend from reports, interesting to see how he goes this weekend.
Dont get me wrong when i said about Martinello on the interchange... the kid is a true freak and proved that in gvfl footy last yr.. nearly a certain to be picked up next yr, i just thought with warnetts speed, height and physical advantage he mite of slipped in first there although agree that anybody could have reasons for being in there. Matter of fact i reckon your could nearly flip that team over (FF to FB) and it would still be a good team (with the exceptions on a few possies such as McEvoy at FB)

Martiniello - a very good player but as blokes are suggesting would need to specialise in an inside small midfielder or goalkicking fwd role - not going to grow much more than his 176cm. Not a wingman at this level.

Morgan (Murray) a class below this lot - have a look at his ineffective disposal rate last year.

Great job on the profiles Big Echuca.

lachie henderson will captain vic county this year, great player.
would've thought he would be put in the forward line?
i know he prefers to play there rather than back.

that's true, he did play up forward for geelong for the majority of last season...but after speaking to few boys from geelong he's been played down back and really dominating in the practise games...i guess with his ability though it wouldnt matter whether he was playing forward or back!
