I know we should be angry that he's been linked to the cows but it's a great indication of how great our club is now. Firstly Richardson, clubs trying to steal Burgo and now Walsh. Spread the Port love I say. #nevertearusapart.

Patrick Ryder didn't show for the Essendon B&F after he asked to be traded to Port. Would Walsh really turn up to ours if he was leaving in a few days?

Does it really matter? It sucks that we lose an assistant, but you can't stand in the way of a guy getting a senior job.
This!

Though I do like that their ruthless, no stone unturned, national search for the absolute best started and ended with an assistant at the local rivals.

Very annoying loosing Walsh. Walsh going for the job is annoying. Getting a good assistant to replace him is going to be very difficult. Getting Walsh was an absolute bonus for us. I believe we were working on getting Walsh. I doubt we have someone that we were going to bring in to replace him. Make no mistake, this will be a massive loss for us.

The good assistants will be also be locked up in contracts.

So, they were after him as an assistant. Now, he will get the senior role. Worst case is that he provides intel during the interview and say thanks.

Seriously? He's a professional who, if this falls through will stay at port. Failing that he's a career coach who wants to be hired again, he's not spilling intel in an interview.

The last assistant to leave us after one season went well for them. Can't see Walshy making the same mistake. It's a poisoned challace at west lakes.
Richardson did not come across as being successful as a senior coach. I suspect he was picked up purely because St Kilda believed he could replicate what Happened at Port. Things went the other way. Richardson will end up building a new list and then being dumped just before success beckons.

I don't know too much about Walsh. I know he is a great tactician, our midfield set ups improved out of sight. But that is not what makes a senior coach successful. He will have a good list to work with, especially in the midfield, so may well be successful. If he does a Richardson, he will not get the same support and if he wants to stay in football in Adelaide, then it won't be in the AFL.

There are three things that would lose sleep over losing. Kochi Ken and Burgo with our list where it is at every thing else off field is interchangeable. I actually like the idea of bringing in a fresh face or two into the coaching group if the opportunity arose.

What, he is going to say that I will only tell you about how I would coach, structures, set up and expectations if I get the job. O.k. I believe.

Of course there will things discussed about his philosophy and playing style, list management and so on, but in the context of the crows.

At the end of the day it doesn't really matter, it happens with assistants moving around and players getting traded every year

Crows already know how we set up. What club doesn't?
You have the right list you can make pretty well every move you call look good. On a personal level I don't rate the Crows midfield I believe Sanderson actually got as much out of them as there was Walsh nor anyone else changes that. They are about 4 quality midfielders and a key defender short of being anything other than a 12th to 8th ranked side.

Of course.
