Apparently Gannon was under Fangio, and Gannon played a much more attacking defense. So we should just hope Fangio plays the Gannon style instead of this trash?

I share the same reservations but what is the alternative, another rookie/inexperienced hire? For now this the right move. I hope.
Strongly disagree, Fangio has been a bust since the end of his tenure as DC in Chicago.

Any of

Eric Washington
Al Holcomb
Wink Martindale
Ejiro Evero
Jim Leonhard or
Patrick Graham

would have been streets ahead of Fangio.

My strong preference would have been for them to bring back Dennard Wilson, who should have gotten the DC job in the first place ahead of Desai or Patricia.

By bringing in Fangio, they are just going to further worsen the strained relationships across the D between players and coaches. He is a belligerent, intolerant and inflexible coach. The open reaction from the Phins players speaks volumes, as does the fact that an analytical, player engaging, ideas inclusive coach like Mike McDaniel, who is normally ultra loyal to his staff and players, was happy to push him out.

Lots of reaching going on there -

As far as I can tell, one player acted out. You don't think there is a minimum of one player on every team that hates their OC for whatever reasons? lol please.

Fangio a bust? As I noted in my posts, I am not huge fan but he had the Dolphins ranked top 10 this past season, so that's hardly a bust. Remind me again where out goat f.uck of a D ranked? It was so bad it made Gannon look like a genius & he stunk. & pushed out by McDaniel? That may well have happened but you are just guessing or spending too much time on Dolphins reddit.

& maybe just maybe a belligerent, intolerant and inflexible coach (if he is in fact any or all of these things) is exactly what is needed to get this D back on track because as we painfully observed, the buddy buddy method failed dismally. Fangio's scheme needs Linebackers, so at the very least that should be one area Howie is forced to finally address and help bring some balance to the defensive roster.

Fangio might be run out of town in a couple of seasons but that would be just as likely for any of those other names you listed. This is Philly after all...

I dunno much about him, but been reading good and bad things since the news broke.

If you knew the forum you'd know what I was talking about...

That he's an ex Cowboy?

I genuinely want to see what people think of his ability as a co-ordinator lol
