Thanks mate! I played around with the vibrancy, shadows etc for the pic and played around with some filters to get that look. It did help that it was also sunset.

It looks like the photo was taken from Piazza Michaelangelo, it is a fantastic picture.
Yep, that's the spot, right on the corner. Took it on my Euro trip last year, and it's definitely the best photo I've taken. It's just a shame I didn't take it on a better quality phone/camera. Would love to get it blown up and printed to put on my wall but the quality probably isn't good enough.

I have a D5100 too, 18-55mm lens and a 75-200mm.

Though I am not as good as you.
I'm pretty close to picking up the D7200 when I have some spare coin. For about $400 you can get the 18-140 which I'm super impressed with and take 90% of my pictures with now.I noticed a difference when I replaced it from the 18-55m.
 
Not sure if this has been discussed in earlier page but as a rookie in the photography field what is a good choice camera in a decent price range.
