I trust his views when it comes to the Victorians. I’m sure he’s seen much more than me.

I just don’t think he’s seen any SANFL or WAFL games. Yet will comment so expertly on even the most random U18 player. I did a lot of googling and pretending when I started out posting about the draft, I think he’s still doing it.

Clayton Hinkley? ;)

Even then he isn't always right.
For example with one player in this year's draft able group he has one supposed strength of a player which would be akin to stating that Brad Hill was strong in the contest

Now that's a fwd line.

In before the 'oh noes where's the defensive pressure' squad.

Thanks that has been my ideal set up and why I think Bobby Hill is imperative for our forward line

The oposition won't be able to double up on anyone player because of the marking pressure we'd possess. Hill and Walters with the kicking and crumbing skills.

Mundy and Fyfe could rest forward to replace Walters and Hill.

I think you might be right
The one thing he’s proven he can do in his limited appearances is put pressure on the ball carrier so it’s worth a go. Over time he could transition to more midfield minutes. Like Taylor said if we can rotate a few guys like that fwd we might get away with the land of the giants approach

I think that's the ballence. Freo do have plenty of small to medium sized players who can rotate through.

When I put up my ideal forward line that was just at centre square bounces. During the action then players push up and down to suit how the play is unfolding.

Like I said Tabs and Hogan often roam and Lobb might ruck when Sandi or Darcy is off.

Yeah that's the key, and I think Cox will develop that ability over time too. One of the biggest knock-on effects will hopefully be our ability to transition into attack from kick-ins. Having at least two of Fyfe/Lobb/Sandi/Hogan/Tabs etc plonked on opposite flanks as outlet options is going to be a huge luxury for us.

I want a footballer. Doesn't matter if they're short, tall, fat, thin, fast or slow.
A guy that can kick well both feet, knows when to fly and when to stay down. Knows where and when to lead. As always in my book, a guy that has a proven record playing well in important games.

Another David Mundy please. Who was also selected around the mid-teens...

Would of been interesting if Tom Joyce had been fit this year he would of been considered a prospective pick 14....didn't look out of place as an under ager last year in the state champs....be interesting to see if Freo or anyone else pulls the trigger on the kid......out of interest with all Freo's tall is O'Reilly even a want now?
