I believe Burton's pet hamster was shaking his head when he said it though so who knows

He's still in regular contact with enough of the players that he'd at least have a pretty good sense of what's going on.
I call bs as well. I doubt that he leaves.Coz I am sure Mitch has sent out flyers to all his teammates and the club letting they all know that he is leaving at the end of the year. That would be the smart thing for a professional athlete to do to maximise his worth.
And those teammates would then happily betray a current teammates confidence to a former player...
Dude I’d love to believe you I really would but why do you think this ?I call bs as well. I doubt that he leaves.
I think you’d be surprised at how much players talk about this shit.Coz I am sure Mitch has sent out flyers to all his teammates and the club letting they all know that he is leaving at the end of the year. That would be the smart thing for a professional athlete to do to maximise his worth.

They might talk about it the same way anyone at work might discuss offers they have had and the pros and cons. Would you tell your teammates you were out the door at the end of the year though? Much less your coaches and other club staff? And would they in turn tell a former player who hasn't been at the club for 5 years?I think you’d be surprised at how much players talk about this s**t.
The whole “we don’t talk about contracts or pay etc” is complete BS and has been for a decade
If he leaves we are stuffed imo. Unfortunate timing for us with West Coast being last.If he leaves, he leaves. So long as we get an appropriate first round pick for him, it won’t be the end of the world.
We’ve recently always given serious knee injuries a contract extension immediately.Dixon, Marshall, Mitch, Lord and Scully as KPFs
Mitch definitely shown more than Lord and wouldn't want to lose him but maybe an area we could cover?
Will take Mitch 12 mths to get back to previous form going by other knee injuries, will be interesting to watch if Mitch stays.
Lots of managers waiting for new collective agreement, big payrises expected. To early to call. We’ve recently always given serious knee injuries a contract extension immediately.
Mitch is out of contract and hasn’t signed one… I think he’s gone.
Look if Mitch decides to go because he is homesick, wants to be guaranteed a game every week because he is going to a piss weak list more than he values the likelyhood of playing finals football or winning a premiership, or simply wants more money in the short term then it happens, more the fool him and we get what we can for him.
Nah if he goes it’s because he wants to go home. They might be going through a lean patch right now but MG is only 21 and history would suggest that long term you are a better chance of playing finals, grand finals and ultimately winning premierships as a West Coast player than as a Port Adelaide player.
If he stays it will be because of loyalty to his mates and to a lesser extent the club, not because of money or perceived likelihood of success.
If he picks West Coast, which looks the most likely destination, then we won’t be getting anything close to a first round pick. We’ll probably have to take a salary dump back the other way to avoid them walking him to the PSD.If he leaves, he leaves. So long as we get an appropriate first round pick for him, it won’t be the end of the world.

Everyone very frustrated, is taking forever with no forseeable timeline. When does this agreement come to fruition?
Seems to be holding up negotiations all over the place.
I wouldn't be surprised if the reason georgiadis and bergmann haven't signed yet is the same reason why a dozen other players haven't signed yet either.
No ink in their pen?I wouldn't be surprised if the reason georgiadis and bergmann haven't signed yet is the same reason why a dozen other players haven't signed yet either.
Their shopping trolleys might have been murdered
Lol if Jack Ginnivan was ever traded to Port somebody could chop his head off with a chainsaw and he still wouldn't get a free for it.If he picks West Coast, which looks the most likely destination, then we won’t be getting anything close to a first round pick. There was a rumour Collingwood were dead keen on Georgiades. Other than staying, that might be the next best option as they will have a late first round pick, Carlton’s second round pick and some young fringe players would might like e.g. Finnlay McRae, Harvey Harrison, Arlo Draper, Reef McInnes, or dare I say it Jack Ginnivan.

Nah if he goes it’s because he wants to go home.
If he stays, he’s happy in Adelaide and with his mates at Port
No need to over think it
