now with the draft the next event coming up who do we think is the best choice at pick 18??

with all the talk of who we will get at pick 2, i would like to know what we all think will happen at pick 18..

i dont know much about the players that might be selected outside the top 10..
will we pick a quality kpp, ruckman, or get another mid??
i personally hope we get another kpp..
who will be available??

Good player, won't fall to pick 18. Hawks will nab him with there pick imo.

The only problem with Selwood is his speed...however we are a pretty fast side with guys like Lids, Bling, Edwards, Foley, etc. so speed in the midfield isn't a huge issue, but Terry Wallace does love speed

Andy Otten from Oakliegh could be worth a punt with 19. A big boy at 192cm and plays as a HHF/midfielder. He is a very hard worker and would be a valuble pick up. Probably wont be there with our next pick.

whats with most of u guys wantin to pick up another midfielder with our pick 18. we definitely need to pick up key position or ruckman, we have already got enough depth in the midfield and need talls, to cover injuries 4 players like thrusfield. What does everyone think of taking robbie tarrant with pick 18 he is 196 cm and can apparently throw players around. Could he be able to play defence as well as forward in a rotation with polak. When needed

I think we have most pressing need for a KPP to be coming through the ranks.

BUT, they say this is the draft for quality ruckmen. I'd rather get a good ruckman this year (if there are any left by our pick) and get him in the system than a grab a moderate KPP.

With our next pick we can speculate. You'd have to think we are kind of flush for flankers right now though.

I also think we should break the habit of a lifetime and rookie a ruckman, maybe someone really ultra tall or new to footy or from a rugby state, someone that would otherwise get overlooked but could pay off.

Easily the fastest team now on paper, shame we lack footskills and a decent defence. Fingers crossed on mcguane! Also polak has gotta improve his stamina to play as a man on man centre half back.

If Simmonds plays a full year, with pattison as backup, we should put some faith in gus and just get another rookie ruckman to fill out our stocks. Preferably a monster, 205cm+ with a tank but no footy skills, like someone said maybe a rugby convert or something. I think the picks to get ruckman in are in the first round if they are stars, but after that its not worth wasting a top 50 pick. Alot of the superstar ruckmen now were prospective picks or rookie elevations.

So yeah, get the best available really.

Tayte Pears or Alex Rance would be ideal at pick 18. Not sure if Rance will fall that far but hopefully pears will.
