Talent is there. Kicks the most miraculous goals - but misses so many easy ones.

Combination of injuries, lack of fitness and attitude has meant we haven't seen the best of him. Was all for delisting him the end of last season, but he has improved a lot, so I'd keep him for one more year. If he doesn't come on, delist.

But be prepared to give him a couple of games when we rest Robbie's battered body and see how far off he is now.

His set shot routine is poo, is inconsistent and needs to be condensed

Too many moving parts and points of failure.
Its a byproduct of his overall running style.

As someone who runs like a recently born Giraffe myself, I've had a fair bit of feedback and coaches try to fix it here and there

Williams has a lot of red flags with his running, the set shot is a by product

A smart coach would be strategically picking games to rest Gray and play Williams.

One coaching for his own survival though...
The irony of course, that resting Robbie for one or two games would probably lead to more wins, rather than Robbie stuffed / injured the last 7 or 8 games of the season. Ken's not known for thinking though.

Definitely has some nous around the goals. Could he beat Jimmy Toumpas in a time trial yet?

It's not about being a midfielder at AFL level, of course he could build a better tank & match fitness having a run through the midfield at SANFL level.
Exactly. He is not going to build an AFL tank, even as a forward if all he is doing is playing as a deep forward in the reserves. If he could get through a whole bunch of games, even gassing out in the midfield in the SNAFL it would maybe give him enough of a tank to be a forward at AFL level.

There were mentions in the SANFL thread in the weekend of Williams generating some clean clearances, so it would seem he might be getting a run through there at times.

just saw that the boy had 25 touches and 8 rebound 50's on the weekend, albeit in a dreadful team performance. this would easily have to be his best return for disposals since being with us, was he played in a different position? certainly the only pleasing this to see looking at the stats from that game.

He was named at half back for the game, looks like he played there. Unless Lokan had everyone behind the ball, hence why we couldn't score.

The 8 rebound 50's should be a hint.

Hard to get as a deep forward.

Can someone explain why we’ve moved our most dangerous forward option in the SANFL and arguably Robbie gray’s replacement to be in the backline now when we have a huge amount of defenders already? Leaving McEntee as our only small forward?

Because we're stupid!
