I think bragging about the strength of either club right now would just embarrass both parties. Why dont we just agree that we are both better than Freo

Fair call.

To be honest, I think Richmond has a pretty exciting list in some respects, I'm actually shocked that with the talent you have, you played so disgustingly last year.

Maybe the new coach will turn things around.

Good luck in any case :thumbsu:

Hypocrite. You rip into me about wanting to tank and then you write this.

How is he a hypocrite? He was looking for the first where somewhere mentioned Scullgove, are you high?

Also people rip into you for wanting to continue to tank when we don't need to and before round 1 had even began no less.

Were you perched over your keyboard waiting for me to write something about either of them so you could have a go? Nice try junior :D

He's right though.

Anyone who wanted to end up on 5 or 6 wins last year will hopefully realise how diabolically stupid they were after watching these two play a few games.

Perhaps but saying this before round 1 is completely idiotic, if it was round 18 or so it might be different.

Just as stupid as it would be to suggest that not having one of them instantly means we wouldn't have become a contender.

I'm at peace with having cheated our way to the top of the draft, but that's it. No need to turn the club into a year round grubby experiment in team building.

And I won't even get into the amazing theory I've heard that if you weren't pro-tank then you shouldn't be excited about the players we got from it. Shows what sort of NQR people we have following us.

Anyone who wasn't "protank" clearly doesn't believe that a premiership is the be all and end all. For me there's nothing else that matters. But yes, I certainly agree that you can enjoy any player that runs out for the r & b. To suggest otherwise is non-sensical. Almost as much as wanting to lose the priority pick.

Btw, glad you're at peace. If we hadn't have taken the course we did I'd no longer have a team in the AFL. If we took the course we did, but still won so be it.

TFG that Gardner still wasn't president. I wouldn't have a club.

I sit here in amazement that Melb Big Footy Royality is attacked on various threads recently... What has this site come to???, maybe we (majority) should head over to Demonland/Ology, where they show you some respect to the old fella...

that's not love at all then

It is what it is.

If I knew that we'd not win a flag in my lifetime I'd be out of here. A flag is all that matters.

Of course one can't predict the future, so expectation governs one's emotions.

Premierships are the be all and end all for me.

I accept that there are many who'll cherish their team whether it involves a flag or not, but this little black duck is'nt on that page.

You have to be kidding! You are saying that if our club tried to win games that you would no longer support us?

Its no wonder why we get the streotype we do with supporters like this.

We all much to our own beat, Kid. I'm there every week and have been for a long long time. But the chance of a flag is all that interests me. Perhaps it's because I experienced the decade of the 1970's as a supporter.

Naturally, you can please yourself.

Btw, you make an inference about 'typical Melb. supporters'. On another forum a poster said Melb supporters embrace a "near enough is good enough" mentality. That's the thing, he's right. A flag is all that matters (to me).
