Waaia are off to Melb tomorrow for their footy trip....
Some of the boys are on it tonight...... That to me sounds like starting behind the eightball.... But if you are young enough to back it up well done......

Mitch going round again
( riverine herald, Friday, October 10, 2008 )

Mathoura coach Chris Mitsch has re-signed with the Timbercutters for at least the 2009 season.
The 38 year-old former Sydeney Swans listed player and Deniliquin Rams premiership player and coach was recently re-appointed for a second year at the helm of the club.
Mitsch replaced Terry Blake as coach of Mathoura at the start of last season, who now plays for Picola District Football League Club, the Deniliquin Rovers.
Despite the Timbercutters only winning two games for the 2008 season, finishing in 14th position on the ladder ahead of Yarroweyah and Wunghnu, Mitsch said that the club was busy speaking to potential recruits and was looking to head in the right direction in 2009.
" You look at the results and see we won two games for the season, you'd think it might be dissapointing, " he said.
"But we lost a lot of players in the off-season and at times it looked like we might struggle to get enough players back in.
" So to field two sides two sides every week and play competitively at some point in all games was promising."
Mitsch is hoping the club attracts some senior footballers to the club for next season.
" We're looking to pick up some experienced players for the club," he said.
"It's a pretty good enviroment to play in and the locals are great people.
" We have some great netball sides as well, which is good for the club.
" We'll really look to push the benefits. "
In a year which seemed to be a struggle for the club, Mathoura used the season as chance to give some of the club's younger players valuable experince with the senior team, with the aim to develop their skills and knowledge for the future.
Mitsch, a non-playing coach, boasts a wealth of knowledge which he was able to pass onto the younger players.

Henderson was a joke as a coach. What is Echuca thinking?
Bit harsh on Hendo there Back Flank.
Hendo would have to be the best coach i have had in terms of research and preparation towards the opposition sides.
he also had a good year with Echuca under 18's, and from what i hear quite a few of them would be aiming up at playing in the Bombers ones this year

Re: CHANGES TO CURRENT PDFL ( merged ) NEW COMP / MFL/PDFL 3 Division System Threads

Ozzie to coach Dookie in season 2009, non playing. I'm tipping he will get itchy feet and lace the boots up though!

The above is from the O&KFL thread.

Just on that has anyone noticed the pattern at Tungamah over the last few years?

2008- Premiers
2007- Missed Finals
2006- Minor premiers (didn't play off)
2005- Runners Up
2004- 2nd last (only 3 wins)
2003- Runners Up

Appears to be a lot of fluctuation, what to expect in 2009?

Is that one confirmed? Good move by Tunga if true. He'll draw Yarra and Mul players out there.

Is that locked in? As I have heard Shepp United are after Kia.
Good coach..! I just wonder if he'll pull the boots on? the old bugger.
if he is coach??? i reckon he will play. he played seniors in the o&m last year so he is still a good player

a fantastic pick up for tungamah! was a regular in the ones for ovens murray yarrawonga.
played with him aswell and i learned alot from him. knows what he is talking about and LOVES the fitness side so tunga are in for a big pre season.

Has Anyone heard about coaches for the remaining clubs without appointed coaches yet?

Or who clubs are chasing for coaches and players next year?

Any rumors of player movements and signings?

Seems very quite on here compared to the Murray League and Goulburn Valley both have lots of signings already and rumours floating around about next year!

I think you'll find a few clubs are waiting to see how the league split ends up going before they have players committing to them for the 2009 season.

i have heard that a team from PDFL has applied for entry into our (Kyabram District) league for 09 can anyone confirm or deny this for me plz? if so which team will be joining us next year?

AS if any of the Picola League clubs will drop their standards low enough to the KDFL...
