The game was scrappy for the first quarter. After that both sides play some good footy. Andrew May dominated for Deni, ex Saint Jackson Ferguson picked up possessions at will for Hay. I think in the end Hay won by a goal.
Did the 50y/o bode play mac or was the walking stick broken?

Berrigan,,, played finals last year,,, from what i can see they have lost one top 6 player in Wallis, but have gained the 2 Middleton brothers back after stints with Finley and Hawker returns after a season away in melbourne... dont know much more,, but they may well be up there come finals time..

Looking at Berrigans clearance list .... they have recruited some good players,,, Middletons, tim cooper is back and a host of players that have played senior footy in the muray, hume, ovens and king etc..... namely Brown,Creenaune, Mcqualter, Hall, Kelly, Osbourne. And I see Bedford is returning ( clearance denied at the moment )
Whilst most of the pre season talk on here has been about Picola, Blighty, and Tocumwals improvement, it appears Berrigan have recruited better then these clubs.,,, Reckon they might be capable of a top 3 spot..
Can anyone tell me how they went against Toc today ,, will be interesting to see the result ...

Berrigan won by about 8 goals. Had a big last quarter by the looks. maybe they have been tad under the radar?

Wow... really,, 8 goals ... geez..

I was at the game and well done to berrigan thought there 2nd half was suburb and overall a verry good win . Although they won still think they are no chance to be any threat. I feel against a better side they would get beaten in both smart and skill wise. Not taking anything away from toc they where ok themselves but skill level aswell as i thought there bigger names went missing when it mattered. But in saying that it is only rd 1 and credit to
both sides on a good way to start of the new year!!

I thought Toc were to be one of the big improvers going by past post on here .... Berrigan have recruited some 8 guys that are proven senior level players... so that will take a few weeks for these new guys to gel ... And I see recruit Lappin was named Berrigans best in the reserves and Tim Cooper played reserves,, and if they get Bedford back ,,well one would think they may be a contender for a top 3 spot ,,, anyway ,, its only early days

Looks like Cooper just filling in for the 2's on the day, clearance lodged to go back.
I do agree though, they have recruited well and top 3 would not shock. Should be a pretty tight comp with 7-8 sides thinking they're a realistic finals chance.

Any predictions and margains for the games this weekend?

Deni Vs Yarroweyah 80 points
Mathoura
Vs Blighty 13 points
Strathy
Vs Picola 11 points

Deni will be keen to avenge their loss to hoppers late last year and with their recruits I would imagine no less than a 10 goal win would be expected especially if they are to be finals contenders. Mathoura at home are always hard to beat and Strathy and Picola looks to be a great game. Very keen to see all the results.

Any thoughts on the umpiring standards ?

Terrible.
I thought so too ! I was thinking that I was a hard marker, so asked for other another opinion, however deplorable at best is my assessment. On another note, who does the PDFNL twitter page ? Please don't enter a spelling contest is my advice #unprofessional.

So which game was this?

Contact the league and let them know your thoughts .
Tipping they won't here from you as much as you claim to from a club . The timing of your account and posting history is not fooling anyone , but nice try .

If Berrigan and Toc are not going to be any threat who arnt they a threat to? What's your top 3?

The complete opposite would appear to be the generally consensus from what I've heard , with both clubs congratulating and clapping the umpires off at many games.

They have not been sighted or talked about from what I've seen and heard which normally means they are doing their job right. Only going to get better as well I would imagine.

No doubt about you roar , you can smell a mole in your ranks from a mile away . I saw your field umpires for toc & berrigan game u keep that quality and you will have no, problem !

Sounds like you know them or even related ?;):D
I believe there is now up to 38 in total, including around a dozen boundary and goal umpires.
Keeping in mind that the league hasn't previously had goal or boundary umpires supplied. Apparently some of these umpires have already officiated in grades other than senior , which again is quite uncommon ground within the PDFNL in recent times.
