Yeah thats the thing. At the moment ive got Walker, M Brown and one of Gumby/Thorp/Grant as my forward rookies. It looks a little unsafe, and I dont want to be stuck with dud rookies. Moving Ziebell forward is a much safer option, even if it does weaken my starting unit a bit.

Edit: Okay, did some more tweaking. Options are:

1. Bock + Petrie + Sylvia + 40k

2. Lockyer + Simmonds + Didak (no cash)

3. Newman + Sandilands + Didak + 10k

Leaning towards option 3. Much prefer Dids over Sylvia, and I like Newman over Lockyer. Im not so sure about big 211 though, Simmo or Petrie are much safer (both scoring and durability wise) options.

It's appreciated if you answer the question above you if you're going to post one of your own.

Personally, I have Ziebell forward, because there's more choice in the mids for rookies.

I'd rather have Beams than Jarrad Grant, for instance.

EDIT: Option 3 is the best, for me.

I'll try for the third time:

Which non-Cox ruck should I pick, bearing in mind that I have a lot of Dons players, and Laycock is injured, meaning Hille will do most of the ruckwork for Essendon.

Even if you have many essendon players, it doesn't really affect Hille's score because he is a ruckman. I would go with Hille followed by Simmonds or Petrie and then Sandilands.

It was a continuing conversation from the previous page. As to the question posted above mine - Mackay. Butler is too injury prone, and although Rich should get games it doesnt look like he will score that well. Mackay is in the crows best 22 (according to their team forum) and has scored well pre-season. Could average 65-70, which is all you need from him (priced at a 52 average).

As for the rucks question, its really personal opinion. Hille will probably score the best, but has a history of missing games. Petrie is coming of a career season, but how will having the Mish back in the team affect his scoring. Simmo is probably the saftes bet, as he is durable and should get an 85 average. Sandilands has massive potential - if he can get a few more possies/marks, his HO total alone will make him average 90.

I cant split them.

I'm not sure how rucking alongside Bellchambers instead of Laycock will affect Hille's scoring. Will he simply get more gametime, or will there be more rotations, given Bellchambers is only in his second year, and isn't particularly impressive around the ground.

Your the Essendon supporter mate, try asking on your team forum. They will have a better idea on rotations than us.

I personally like Ottens for value.

Giansiracusa + Hentschel

OR

B Harvey + Hentschel

What are peoples thoughts on angus graham getting games? Could be a good ruck rookie...
Ive got him in my team on the bench. Wallace said on radio that he would be the 2nd ruck for Richmond over Pattison.

And Richo has picked him in his DT :p

Rich + J Riewoldt + 16k

OR

Mackay + Yarran + 42k

The extra cash would be handy as backup as ive picked some risky players like Drummond and may be needed for a trade later on if he gets injured (Yes I have picked him as a lower-end keeper, and yes i know the risks).

Would expecting Yarran/Rich to score 55ppg and Riewoldt to score 75ppg (which he would need 3 kicks & 1 mark extra per game and to score 2 goals a game) reasonable, or am i kidding myself?

I think Mackay will average just as much as Riewoldt so I'd go option 2.

Will play at the start of the season as the only other viable 2nd ruck option is injured (Pattison). If you're not looking for him to actually get on the ground then he could be quite servicable at making some money through the season and then allow you to cash in towards the seasons end if you're looking for extra cash to make those all important last couple of upgrades. The reason I say this is because against the Dockers in round 1 he scored 37 and seemed to have a fair amount of TOG, against the Pies in week 2 he scored 32 but didn't come on until well into the 3rd quarter and got most of his touches in junk time. Against the Saints on Friday night all reports are he got soundly beaten by the Saints ruckmen and this was his chance to play as first ruck. Reports also suggest that Browne (our rookie ruck) was much better. Might be wise to see what score he gets when Freako comes out this week.

As it stands I'm taking him as my 3rd ruckman and looking at him making me some cash and if need be fill in for 1-2 weeks should an injury occur to my starters. As I said above my plan is to hold onto him as long as he plays and then cash him in if/when he gets dropped or at seasons end to use the money elsewhere.

Tossing up between these 2 combinations.

1) McPhee + Corey + Mackay + Cox + H-Mac

and

2) S.Stevens + Ablett + T.Tuck + Petrie + Simmonds

Any advice appreciated
