Having a look on Cats Claw , they seem confident that spriggs is gone but to where is debatable. To Essendon for Sam Hunt, To Sydney, To North , To the Pies.

To me the Don's one sounds interesting for a couple of reasons.
It reminds me of the Barnes/Denham swap years ago and of course Bomber must still have contacts with the place.
What type of a player was Hunt?.As posted in the Attributes thread , I would hope we dont just add more of the same.He might just be be a half decent player that due to the drafting at Windy Hill is lacking for a chance.Drafted in 2000 , they have drafted several big guys since then and they have got some talent already in their side. Also he is an EX Falcon

The sydney one is a bit more fancifull I would have thought.Sombody probably like the idea of getting another Ablett to Catland.

Pies might be a chance because they need run but I seem to remember that they would be concentrating on players with top ball skills. Enough said.

A club that might also be worth considering is the Bullies. We have a good record of dealing with them.Eade will most likly want plays who can run all day to implement a sunami of flooding and Spriggs could do that.2 round pick from the Bullies would be 19-20 , not bad I would think.

After the Peter Street deal i don't think there will be too much trade activity between our two clubs directly this off-season.

.
I would hope they didnt go for Sam Hunt, or if they did they offered less than Spriggs. Hes a CHB who was a "smokey" when the bombers picked him in the mid 30's. In fact i dont think thats the only reason hes a smokey, unless hes changed from his old habits.

Sounds like you have been on the water with him Nana.
Would he be a legit 3rd tall in our backline, whats base set of skills like for the needs of that position. As has been said on this board before , we dont really have any backup if the Red Chopper gos down.We could do with a legit Backman not just a project forward finding a place to hide

Yeh i agree we need a backup ruckman, but I think we could find much better than Hunt. There is no point having a backup defender if they are not going to be able to do a job for you when required, and i dont think hunt could do this. How about Saddington from the Swans?. wouldnt take much more than Spriggs and a 2nd round pick to nab him surely?

I'd give you Bolton for Spriggs.
I don't know if we'll trade Hunt, he will be a good player, but he just needs a chance. If you get offered Hunt for Spriggs it would definately be in your favour.
BTW what's wrong with Spriggs?

I'm extremely biased but Bolts would become a star if he got away from Sheedy.

Mark simply isn't a key defender, he will tell you that himself, yet Sheedy insists on playing him there.

Put Bolts on a wing and watch him become a genuine quality AFL footballer.

Spriggs, Rahilly + 1st Round Draft Pick for Chris Tarrant.

Simple.

Amen.

I'd be willing (if Collingwood refused to take the Helicopter Specialist) to give our first two picks and Spriggs for Tarrant.

Thinks he looks as good as I ;)

In all seriousness, Spriggs has quite a strong work ethic, just hasn't got the skills to play league footy.

It's fine TurboCat.

Bulletproof (and oggmonster) were just a couple of boys who came here last year and came up with endless stupid rumour after another.

Bolton has potential but is played in the wrong positions. He would be a more than handy pickup for something reasonable and he would add a strong tall target on the wing and in the foward line to cause some problems when required.
Maybe Spriggs and a draft pick for Bolton could be the start of conversation?

I would hope so, although i know for a fact that Sheedy is incredibly high on Mark (has been in love with him since he was going around for the Ranges) and also know that Mark is earning considerably more than his career justifies.

i agree with nana that saddington from the swans might be a viable option.
with goodes, bolton, shauble, bevan they could afford to off load him

Saddington would be a risky bet.

Has never really dominated the competition and would be coming off a serious knee injury.

Not sure how old he is, but you'd think his time is running out to prove his true worth.

He's 24 atm i think, soon to turn 25. As far as a backup defender goes, he is 194cm which isnt too shabby, and there is no point picking one up unless they are going to be able to do a job when they are required. I think hes shown he can be quite a reliable player for Sydney and would be worth a look for mine.

Who was that big blond guy from Qld we had mid ninties, in fact played the 95 grand. Big guy who basically didnt like to play like a big guy, prefered to play the wing etc
