Blake Acres v Derickx

Strange comparsion, but its for a keepers league last draft selection. My league is only using 1 starting Ruck and I already have NicNat and Blicavs. First trade period is rd 6 where I might look at getting Griffin in as a free agent if I dont pick derickx. So I guess I need to know if going into the first 6 rounds with just 1 bench ruck is risky, and/or if Acres is worth the risk to lock him in for the future years?

Chapman v Pavlich - Pav will probably play more games than Chapman towards the latter part of the season when Chappy breaks down, with 42 trades this isn't a major issue.......who will score more consistently?

Watson v D Beams - Watson has more ASADA crap hanging over him, doubt he will return to Brownlow form, will Beams return to pre injury form?

Hodge V Ibbotson - I think I am screwed either way but there isn't many options left apart from Enright or Bartel.

M Johnson v P Hanley - Johnson has potential for big scores.

Thoughts?

1. Pavlich. Chappy will miss games at random times, so says Bomber. Pav is old but still the main man, showed enough of it during NAB I reckon. You think you won't worry about trades, but those weeks where you have an injury AND then chappy gets 'rested'... urgh.
2. Beams, ALL DAY.
3. Hodge over Ibbotson. I wouldn't write off Enright, but Bartel likely to spend too much time forward.
4. Hanley (as a biased Lions supporter....) I just think with Leppitsch's game plan, he's going to play to our better players' strengths (sounds simple, doesn't it). IMO this means things like Rockliff doesn't leave the MF if at all possible, and Hanley to get lots of cheap +6s as we try to chip it around and play smarter.

My turn...
Cox + L.Parker vs. Minson (or any other ruck) + Tom Mitchell?

fyfe v danger ...long term for keepers league
Fyfe I reckon. He's got stacks of improvement left, which is a scary thought, and has more class around him for the next 2 years at least I reckon. Danger has a risk of a role change, whereas Fyfe has zero worries in that regard.

had a trade offer:

gain: Fyfe, Buddy
lose: danger, grigg (tigers)

will buddy get back to his best?

* my depth is midfield, Danger is a forward listed in my team

That's a toughie. IMO, it depends on the rest of your depth in the forward line. The safe option is what you already have, as both Danger and Grigg will continue to get better. Fyfe has the highest ceiling, but think why is Buddy on the table for trade? On paper, you'd think Buddy would come good, but he won't be Tony Lockett, 10 million or not.

Just on face value, I would actually decline that offer, based on the gamble that Buddy represents. If your forward depth can handle losing Danger while you're waiting for Buddy to come good, then go ahead, you could be laughing to the bank.

For UF Def bench spot;

Atley v Dunn v Clisby

It's a bench spot so can afford to take a risk

I had a very similar choice for my defender bench spot in UF.
Ended up going with Dunn (who would have thought he'd ever be a viable option...) because of Melbourne's new high-possession game style, particularly in the backline and he's scored well in both matches so far. If it doesn't work out it's not a big deal because you can just drop him and try someone else anyway.
