I always find it intriguing when a player suddenly loses form and struggles to recapture it. Players who once had but then lost it.
I always seen Cory Mckernan as a classic example of a player who once had it and then lost it.

Cameron Bruce is the one who immediately comes to mind. His start to 2005 was sensational - his form was dramatically worse when he came back from that hit, but even more mysteriously his kicking has gone downhill so much in 2006 and then in 2007 again, where these days you pretty much would bet against him hitting a target even under no pressure.

I would have to say Koutoufides, for a moment back there in 2000 he was the best of the best, until he got that knee injury. Still a champion player (or was), but never really returned to those lofty heights.

Carlton's Frank Marchesani (spelling?) - late 80s? - even wore #25 - burst onto the scene, could have been anything but within a year or so was playing park soccer. May have have had a season after the Blues with the Roys?
