To port forward you have to assign your console to a fixed IP.

Otherwise next time you start your console the IP its on could change.



These are the ports needed for Playstation.

TCP: 1935, 3478-3480

UDP: 3478-3479, 3074

I tried doing this. It still says NAT 3.

Tried calling Telstra. They can't help me unless I go to Telstra Platinum which is a paid service. **** me.

While assigning a static IP and manually entering the ports should work, there is no reason that enabling UPnP shouldn’t at least give you a type 2 because it pretty much does the same thing dynamically (with some exceptions). There is possibly overkill security settings turned on? This will be really hard to work out without being able to see it. An option might be to find out the make and model of the modem-router and hitting Google to see what you can find regarding NAT.

Sometimes the PS4 will incorrectly say NAT 3 even if you are really a 2 though. Are you actually getting any issues that you cannot connect to people? This was a while back but on the same cable modem but when playing FIFA on PS3 the game would tell me I was NAT 3, and so did Black Ops 2 on 360 yet I never had any issues connecting to any game.

Is your console on the IP address you've done the port forwarding for?

Last resort is DMZ... but I wouldn't use my credit card on the box then

I never even tell anyone how to DMZ anything. There shouldn’t be any reason to put any device there.

It literally won't let me connect to mates in part chats. Keeps saying can't join cause of NAT type settings. I've just checked whether there are outages because under my router settings it says my "broadband service is working in backup mode" and apparently won't be restored to 2 December. I'm wondering if this is in fact the issue for it now.

Have you tried charging it from mains rather than the PS4 USB port? Mine is pretty temperamental from letting kids use it. Often need to have it plugged in and then turn it on to get it to do anything. Also need to charge via mains power sometimes to get it to register. Annoying af but I can still get it working

I've got an old pair of Golds sitting in a drawer after replacing them with a better headset. Still work perfectly, just peeling hence why I've never bothered trying to sell them. Yours if you want them.

This happened to me with my first pair of Astros. I swear they were buggered. Contacted the local distributor to organise warranty and sent some photos of the headset not turning on or charging. All good, they said return them. Got a call a few days later saying they couldn’t fault them. They magically started working and returned them to me. Either that or they did a switcheroo to avoid refunding me or something. Only problem was in that time I had already rushed out to buy another expensive headset expecting a refund.

It doesn’t help you of course but it’s a pretty cool story.

I just finished off Knack 2 platinum, this is a very solid game dare I say even great. I couldn';t even finish few chapters of the first game but they really stepped up their game with the second entry. id be quite disappointed now if there wasn't a third game, ignore the memes this is a good game.

Iphone earphones won't work. Android ones will however.

Was surprised at what my top played game was, I knew FIFA was going to be up there, but didn't expect my no.1 played game.

The one thing it does make me wish for though, since Sony and the PS4 is definitely tracking it. Is that time played data to be available freely, I don't care where or how, but I want that info!
