It's not even that much of an increase on something likely sold at a loss. The price hikes on components over the last 12 months are insane.

Someone without a PS5 would gladly pay more over the last 2 years if it meant they got one, Sony needs to just make sure they have consoles.

Yep, my thoughts are the price rise is fine if it leads to more being available across every store.
If there's still going to be a stock shortage, rising the prices leads to anger!

Speaking of price changes, when did digital games on PS receive a price increase? Apparently first party games are now $125? That's outrageous. Last gen they were $99 which was already more than most of the world so I don't see why they needed to be bumped again.

Exactly. That's why the increase in console price is outrageous. They have already been ridiculously overcharging on digital pricing for years. So don't give me rising chip costs etc.

Can you give me $50?

If you have $750 for a console you have $800 for a console.

If you just want $50 for the heck of it, maybe.

We have a generation of people who dont understand money and are going into debt because of afterpay type systems.

I kinda agree with you, if you can afford a $750 console you can afford the extra $50.
But its still a dick move to raise the price when it some regions like Australia its never been in stock, and pre-orders sell in mins.

Agree, Sony needs to make sure they have stock to appease those now having to pay a little bit more.

Seemed to be less outrage with the scalpers selling on eBay for double and triple the cost.
