They haven’t shown them before a games release for a while now so it’s a surprise.

The first trailer that I've seen that hasn't really sold me on the game. Initiating a battle seems particularly clunky after Legends Arceus. TMs going back to single use seemingly just so there's a loot aspect to defeating wild Pokemon just send to be padding. And I can't say making sandwiches is what I need from a Pokemon game.
But I'm a sucker for Pokemon, I'll still buy it day one, so I appreciate the restraint on showing off new Pokemon - Playing through Sword not knowing 99% of the new Pokemon in it was great.

I think the battle seemed clunky because you can't just throw poke balls in this game like in legends, the battle did at least happen in the overworld in the exact spot it was started which is a good carry over from legends.

I like the fact that you start as a student at a school and the villain team is a group of bullies/jocks who go to the same school.

If the frame rate isn’t improved by release then it might be time for Game Freak to step aside from making the 3D titles and hand it over to say a Monolith Soft. Something I’ve been keen on is a split of 2D and 3D like Zelda and Mario have done for ages.
Some modern 2D games look gorgeous and wouldn’t mind the split.
I’ve watched and read through a bunch of other previews and most of them mention that they were specifically told the demo was an older, developmental build of the game.
None of them have gone as hard on the performance as Nintendo Life did.
The guys at Nintendo life play a lot to Switch Games obviously and get to try a lot of games with developmental builds. You would hope the preview a month out would be much nicer compared to other games that have previews at a similar timeframes especially a big game like Pokémon.
If the build is a month or so old I agree with you but without actually knowing it could potentially be months old.
I was just watching a streamer who played it and they were asked about the performance and they said it was fine.

I feel like I've had to keep one eye closed avoiding people with access to information leaking it as stupid riddles or whatever for months, but now it's proper get off the internet time. Really enjoyed going fairly blind into Sword and Shield and want to do the same here.
I think the person that has it at the moment is just playing through it normally and giving info, they don’t have the ability to upload the rom.
If anyone finds any images of the starters final evos could you PM me? Trying to avoid spoilers but really want to know those. I’m actually in Japan for the games launch so should be an interesting experience here.
