I reckon these ridiculous nominations are just pure distraction for the news cycle while they are up to something far worse.
All of his national security related nominations and House and Senate leaders are promising an escalation in the Middle East, while most of his supporters were adamant that Trump would bring peace and not send troops.

How stupid they will look.

Gisele Pelicot's husband looks like he brings the sort of skill set the Trump administration seeks in people.

President-elect Donald J. Trump on Tuesday tapped Linda McMahon, a former professional wrestling executive who ran the Small Business Administration for much of his first term, to lead the Education Department, an agency he has routinely singled out for elimination in his upcoming term.
Her job will be short as DOE closing

President-elect Donald Trump’stransition team has reportedly been drafting a list of alternative nominees for secretary of defense in case Trump decides to ditch the current nominee, Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Pete Hegseth.

According to Vanity Fair, which spoke to two unnamed Republican sources “close to Trump,” the president-elect’s transition team has been “quietly preparing a list of alternative defense secretary candidates should Trump abandon Hegseth,” following news of a 2017 sexual assault allegation.

Captain America ?

President-elect Donald Trump said Tuesday he will nominate his transition co-chair Linda McMahon as education secretary, tapping a loyalist, major GOP donor and retired World Wrestling Entertainment executive again to serve in his Cabinet.
“Linda will use her decades of Leadership experience, and deep understanding of both Education and Business, to empower the next Generation of American Students and Workers, and make America Number One in Education in the World,” Trump said in a statement.

And caught up in a sexual assault case when at WWE.

Donald doesn't miss much with his appointments.

Things are getting a little amusing. When Trump wasn’t in power/assuming power the conservatives would whinge and whine about political persecutions, dumb policies, bad cabinet picks, foreign affairs etc

But now that Trump is where he is they have two choices:

  • Complain about Trump’s decisions
  • Not complain at all

And of course they can’t criticize their messiah, cults never do. So they have to just shut up. But they can’t do that either because they are the biggest snowflakes in the world.

So watching conservatives struggle with the consequences of their own decisions is, at least, quite funny.

LOL if anything Garland is the opposite of that, too many principles and too nice. If he were unprincipled and a douche he would have started just throwing people in jail without due process days after 1/6, including Trump. He's a jurist not a prosecutor.

My take is Garland doesn’t want to do anything from look after those in power, then blames those damn rules for not being able to prosecute sooner.

So yeah **** him too.

I've been thinking about Woodward's assertion that Trump told him years ago that 'fear' is his main weapon, or something like that. I wonder if by having such lunatic choices in important positions is his way of keeping everyone off balance because they are afraid of what these people might do with their power. With the rest of population uncertain about the situation, Trump then has more power to do what he wilt.

Yes, it appears he likes to appoint people who are extreme so that it looks like they doing a favour when they tone it down to normalcy.

It didn't work the first time, the Taliban walked all over him and his negotiators. It might work in business where people are in a hurry, but in decades or centuries-long conflicts people aren't as prone to taking-what-they-can-get type negotiations.

Much more likely to leave-it in a take-it or leave-it situation.

I do get the feeling Trump is itching to use the US arsenal somewhere.

He's putting people loyal to him, in prominent roles at organisations many of them have axes to grind with. The result he'll be hoping for is that they'll simply let him do whatever he feels like.

How stupid they will look.

They will find a way to justify it. They claimed they like Trump cos he’s anti war (the cult members and rusted on ones here) but really they don’t care at all.

He could nuke the Middle East on day one and they’d be all for it.

A week and a half ago I was on a table at a pub surrounded by young men who were Trump fans. Half of them were Free Palestine and all of them said Trump was great because there will be no wars anywhere under him.

Hard to feel quietly smug about their naivety.
