Isnt that every politicians intent?
This thread is about RFK Jr who claims his intent is to "fix" the American health system.

His actions and proposals show this is not his intent.

Just calm down lol
I remember the people hired to work in the last Trump administration had similar things to say. Like, they owed it to the country to reserve judgment until he had been in office for a while, so they would take the job(s) he offered.

How many regretted that?

Eating maccas to get the job

You just know he never even took a bite - all he is swallowing there is some pride, as he sells even more of his soul.
He really does smile with his eyes.

Or at least usually does.

Very 'Hide-the-pain-Harold' like

I don't think anyone has issue with his thoughts that align with what us kids of the 70s and 80s heard from our mums - sunshine and exercise - but as said no one is suppressing that.

But his weird stuff is much weirder than the weirdest stuff us 70s/80s kids heard from our mums, like "let the dog lick it, it will heal faster" (waiting for him to announce this one soon).

It’s a shame because while there’s a part of me that thinks he’s a man of the people there’s also another part of me that’s concerned about the fluoride stuff

The fluoride reservations are one of his positions where he has some support from elements of the credible scientific community. I haven’t bothered to evaluate the claims of each side of the debate, but I know the risks/rewards are somewhat contested.

The objections might be equivalent to the pronouncements we read from time to time that “food stuff X” is carcinogenic, based on injecting rats with high concentrations of such foodstuff and finding some develop tumours.

Here’s an article (from a hopefully credible source) that sets out the sides of the debate.

Now, whether Kennedy should really be sticking his nose in, or should leave it to those qualified to interpret the research, is another matter.

Ohh so there’s truth to rfk’s fluoride claim? I did not expect that …. Maybe I should investigate further?

Truth? Not qualified to conclude. But the article I linked to indicates it’s a debated topic.

Unlike his claims on vaccines, where the vast majority of the science points to the benefits far, far outweighing the risks (and zero credible support for the autism claim).

They pretty much are.

Good post and article. I know fluoride was added to water as it wasn't included in toothpaste. But now that it's in toothpaste, there probably isn't as big of a need to have it in water.

Someone who grew up in a family of political royalty is "a man of the people"?

What does he think is wrong with fluoride?
There's a lot of countries don't add it to their water. Most of western Europe doesn't.

  • Western Europe: 98% of the population in western Europe drinks non-fluoridated water, including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland.
  • Other countries: Norway, Scotland, and Sweden have also stopped fluoridating their water.
    • Former fluoridation countries: The Federal Republic of Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, Czechoslovakia, the German Democratic Republic, the Soviet Union, and Finland all previously fluoridated their water, but stopped.
