Look, I've seen this attitude floating around on twitter. But think of it this way; if this comic constitutes a good argument to you, and you hold the exact opposite positions in each pannel, then you are just as hypocritical.
Generally most people think massacres are a bad thing. The more popular argument against gun control in the US generally is that it is 'too hard' or 'won't work', not the NRA-style idea that if only we all had bazookas then no one would try and shoot someone. Therefore the cartoon is pointing out that in other circumstances when things 'won't work', like trying to ban abortions (or make it really difficult for people to get them) people aren't following the same approach that the fact abortions still happen anyway means that any attempt at controlling it is pointless.Look, I've seen this attitude floating around on twitter. Allow birth control
Allow abortion
Allow gay marriage
Ban assault weapons.
Where is the hypocrisy?

It also applies to birth control and I think we all know that the objection to gay marriage is a remnant of a distaste for gay activity rather than any of the ooga-rooga about it being an institution that can't change (it changed in 2004 under Howard, no-fault divorce was allowed a few decades ago, interracial marriage used to be banned in some places a few decades before then, etc.).Thats a great argument but you had to cherry pick one frame to make it. How does this apply to banning gay marriage, for example? Taken as a whole, that is not the point the cartoon is making at all.
Have a look at the cartoon again.I dont think there is any. These are my views. But the comic exists to try and frame such as hypocrisy. It is a bad piece of propaganda that's easy to turn around. Why use it?
What about Capital Punishment?Allow birth control
Allow abortion
Allow gay marriage
Ban assault weapons.
Where is the hypocrisy?
I would have thought that was obvious if you were following the theme. What about Capital Punishment?
I would have thought that was obvious if you were following the theme.
Ban Capital punishment solely due to the massive mistakes of the past.
I'm afraid your ilk have got the time machine all wrong, dear chap.
