Hahaha... yes there will be mate!

The majority of Port members would already be over the co-captain decision, don’t fall into the trap of believing that a few posters on BF represent the wider Port supporter base.

For the record, I’m pissed that we have gone down this path and am now firmly in the no number 1 to be worn at all camp.

But for posters to come on here and call for members to boycott games... yeah, nah!

The people who sing it most passionately are those who understand what its about.

"Never tear us apart" its perfectly (well used to) refer to the "one club" movement to "we are Port Adelaide" that no matter what we are the same club that dominated the SANFL the club that earned the right to play in the national competition, despite the hurdles we faced.

Can you really say this feels like the same club that was founded in 1870 ? Do you think Fos Williams, if he were alive today would walk into to Port Adelaide and say its the same club he was a part of ? A club he won 6 as a player and a total of 9.

I hope you’ve held onto that sign because you could need it again at some point this season.
Over the off season I've come to the realisation that it's a bit misdirected. Hinkley didn't give himself another contract and there's not a lot more to say about him. Unless we've struck assistant gold, he's not it.

The real problem is Koch.

My guess is we were going to announce this some time ago but the other guys went and announced their co-captaincy plans and we didnt want to look like we were copying them. As with everything in the AFL these days, timing is important.

Still doesn't bother me and when whether we're playing well or playing poorly this year, it's not going to make any difference. Port Adelaide will still be out there on the field and this decision will have little to no impact on how much you enjoy watching football this year.

Any feelings anyone has about this not being 'Port Adelaide' enough is just projecting their own insecurities imo. I'm getting tired of the "I'm older than you and understand what this club represents more than you do" attitudes that some wanna posture with around here sometimes. NTUA indeed.

Not sure why everyone is getting so triggered by this now. It's seemed like a foregone conclusion for about a month.
The whole world is triggered and offended now

Can't paint a kids room blue or pink now in case it offends the gender police

Gotta have open borders now with no vetting or you are a racialist

If you are male you are toxic according to Gillette ( ha ha way to offend your main customer base )

And Christ don't be 16 and fumble a first advance on the office girl in the Me too age

The whole world is offended and triggered

Me I'm gonna save it for something related to footy ....er

Prefered 1 captain but If we by some mirracle win a flag in the next couple of years not only will all be forgiven but people will be calling for us to have our captains wear 16 from now on as both our flags would have had a captain wear 16. Lets just move on and keep the blow torch on ken and challenge him to suprise us and get the best out of the players.

The club waited this long in my opinion to give us the supporters time to get used to the idea.
It is what it is. I wouldn't have chosen it but hey I'll get over it. I guess no-one will wear the #1 this year.

It's a fair bit different to the tingles mindset. They've gone with co-captains because Taylor doesn't have the brain power, vocabulary or football ability to be a standalone skipper. Co-captains are generally named together not usually done when one isn't up to it and he needs propping. But hey let the customers believe what they want too, makes sweet **** all difference to me.

Can you really say this feels like the same club that was founded in 1870 ? Do you think Fos Williams, if he were alive today would walk into to Port Adelaide and say its the same club he was a part of ? A club he won a total 15 Premierships, 15 ! 6 as a player and a further 9 as coach.
I agree with your sentiment so sorry for being pedantic but the 6 premierships Fos won as a player he was playing coach. So his 9 coaching premierships are his total

Lol KT and Kochie :” tell us what you think members are so important you are why we are here”...

Members :” we value our traditions and aren’t convinced by the argument of co captains = superhero’s don’t do it”

Nek Minut

Co-captains for everybody!1!2!2!2!

First we get the club giving players the green light to not take their jobs seriously and put themselves in danger during pre season, and now we can’t decide on a competent leader. What’s worse is we give the player who doesn’t take it seriously one of the captain roles.

Leadership and desire to be the best at all costs from the players, coaches and board members does not fill me with confidence.

Absolutely pathetic! PAFC 149-year tradition of having just one skipper scrapped. Nothing more then desperation of finding a formula of success when it’s only masking the deficiencies that are at the top. The head coach !

Goodbye tradition. Goodbye values
