For those who where there. I was sitting I think in what was meant to be the outer army. Did anyone find the supporters there pissweak and non passionate. I mean they were about to enter a preliminary final, and the cheers for each goal was as if you were at a standard AFL game. Some of the complaining about umpiring decisions was funny as well. I really don't think they have absorbed the game over there yet. I loved how about the same 3 tried to start chants, and you could barely here there voice. Outerarmy forever.

If you'd come to a close game you would have heard what a Port crowd can do. The sting was out of that game by the end of the 3rd quarter. It's hard to get too excited about the goal that puts us 10 goals up.

During the West Coast game the crowd was enthusiastic and deafening for every goal, and the same can be said for every close game we've played. We are quite loud when it's close and each goal is life or death.

Again - I've never seen any of this happened. And to question the passion of the outer army is just laughable.

Went over with the whole family, including 2 kids, and thought the Port crowd could have been worse. Remember that these are supporters for who the "norm" is to be the overwhelming majority every week. They do not need to be diplomatic or thoughtful because it is always them. Except for their showdown games against the Crows, they can always be smartmouths and arrogant because no-one is going to pull tehm up. We (NMFC) on the other hand, are used to being in balanced crowds where we have to co-exist with opposition supporters. That makes us far more tolerant.

It must be the same in WA, probably Bris and Syd too.

Taking that into consideration, yes, the Port crowd were feral and ready to have a go not only at the game but all night! I found the best defence was to congratulate them as soon as I made eye contact. It really put them off. Good sportsmanship is clearly alien to them!!!!

As for the city, it is small but pleasant and Glenelg was beautiful. We aim to all go back again until we are part of a winning team. It must be amazing to see tha many supporters just shut up!!!!!

But you might not be:D

The cheating Victorian is a funny one. It's not heard at games in Melbourne about other teams. Yes you get protected interstaters and look after the franchises but not a huge range in cheating.
