The quality of our clearances has been nowhere near the same since then. Quantity is great, but there's such a difference between a hack kick or handball to feet than a ****ing dart to a players chest. We're just putting ourself under so much more pressure comparatively, and the turnovers just keep eventuating and we can't keep up with them. Instead of scoring chances for us we're creating scoring chances for the opposition. It's deflating for everyone, which just feeds into itself and propagates more shitness. We're really not in a great place.

Like you say if Powell and/or Phillips were truly ready to step up it might be a different story, but they're not, and the mature coverage hasn't been up to it enough either.

This doesn't excuse the patches where heads are down and intensity wanes away for an entire quarter, but I get it.
