Well if we can't beat Freo struggling off a 6 day break without the 2nd best player in the comp we definitely didn't deserve to finish ahead of them, credit where it's due they're a great more experienced side & will push Hawthorn/Sydney for the flag.

I know we missed gettable shots in the 1st half but people said Jasper will cost a final well he had 3-4 bad brain farts that all cost goals in a pre final match, I like the lad but he needs to work on his composure.

Dropping O'Shea for a game on a big ground like Subi was a stupid move & Neade played himself out of our finals side.
Neade was really good early and harrassed well all day, but got so little of it.
Would be on edge, but Monfries did buggerall when he came on

Overall a good effort, can't say they didn't put in. I am still not convinced at our zoning off from kick in's, i cannot remember where we didn't give them an easy option leaving our forward 50. I've said it for a number of years and it doesn't ever look like changing so i will have to get used to it. We don't get the same latitude when we exit our 50. I have the confidence that they will put up a good fight at home next weekend, just a little disappointed with the 3rd quarter where we were thrashed all over ground.

His absence along with a "well if I can't pick the tall I want i'm not going to pick any talls at all" attitude that cost us at the very least the Essendon game, and realistically the Collingwood game as well.

I'm too tired to argue this with you anymore. Fine. Whatever.

Immediate thoughts on the game:
  • When Polec tries to paddle it on to advantage instead of taking possession I get so mad, but in hindsight they're the plays that he pulls off and I get a massive tightening in the pants.
  • Crowley did a fantastic job on Boak.
  • If we had a ruckman of Redden's size and skill-set we would really have pushed them, unfortunately Beard and Trengove were dwarfed by Clarke and Tree-Lands when Lobster was resting.
  • Gus didn't seem to do much in the last qtr --> I hope Whitey's crotchal muscle isn't too bung for next week
  • Schulz is a superstar, we need support for him in 2015 onwards (internally or externally)
  • Chad was back for a qtr --> hopefully that keeps building into constistent full game efforts in the finals
  • Sometimes we over handled the ball or held on to it (Westy in the F50) --> but this is what our game plan is founded on, it was more so Freo's amazing pressure (Maine is a scary unit) that kept unraveling our handball chains or broken tackles that would've resulted in shots on goal.
  • ABC The Great Escape ending is an emotionally confusing channel flick after the game
Bring on #8

Please don't let us get Richmond next week. If we go into that game with Boak's 'I hope they enjoy the season that they're having' comment hanging over our heads and Richmond knock us out of the finals I might have to delete my BF account and leave the country.

Don't worry Chaplin's departing words have already ensured we will win.

In the corresponding fixture last season we lost by 12 goals.

We've gone to the two hardest places to play in the AFL other than Simonds Stadium and lost by 12 points combined.

Barring a repeat of the 2005 Semi against the Crows or the 140th Anniversary against the Tigers, our highest loss will have been 26 points against Sydney. And we were right in that game as well.

How haven't we improved?

Who do people want to play next week? Richmond, West coast or Adelaide?

I think Richmond would be the best match up for us.

But then again, if we don't win, losing to West Coast would be a lot more bearable than losing to Chaplin.

I wouldn't even take the risk with the Crows. Showdown's are always 50/50 and they'll have the physical edge after playing St Kilda at home in round 23 and the mental edge after just sneaking into finals and having nothing to lose.

In conclusion- Richmond because I have confidence in our boys winning at home next week against any interstate side.

The comeback only happened

1 they probably put the cue in the rack

2. They had no interchanges left

3. No fyfe...

We blew it...

I am over honourable losses especially since we are better than that...we have opportunities to win but miss crucial goals constantly...we have pittard who costs us momentum constantly, and ebert if he wasnt an ebert he would have been dropped by now

yeah but when we win there can be 50 000 people giving chappy the aeroplane off the ground

A little unfair. I thought Jonas and Impey were good. Hombsh, Bobby and Trengrove average. Pittard...well....

Like I said...he was better than some of our backs. 19 disposals, 68% efficiency, 9 marks, 4 tackles, 4 1%ers, 1 GA, 1 behind. Yeah, he had 3 clangers...but Westhoff had more and Gray and Pittard had the same amount.

Trade Pittard keep O'Shea pls
Jasper's good often goes unnoticed, but his bad is F****** eye catching, and not in a good way. I think Cam would've been a far more effective runner today, but was it run that we needed? I think it was more so poor execution of SOG but Robbie and Hoff that put us under pressure.

It's the same ********* spewing their ignorant bile too. Ken can't go down on the ground and kick Gray's soda from out in front. Ken can't kick Wingard's goal. Ken can't make them turn up the intensity when it matters most. We get what we deserve, and we aren't capable of premiership winning footy just yet. It will come.

We lost this fixture last year by 70+ and we're in danger of missing the top eight. We lose it this year by 8 points and miss a top four finish, and people's heads explode.

X PLENTY to all of the above!

I have wanted pittard dropped like forever and ebert for the last 2 months...

We have oshea waiting young waiting
If you've wanted Pittard "dropped like forever", then you haven't watched much footy this year. Pittard's been more than solid for about 2 months.

Played a stinker today though.
