For the new coach a song from a famous Buddhist songstress. We really just want to be simply the best.

But really we are expecting ...

While the ongoing references from Port coaches to playing like other clubs is tiresome, at least Geelong is a good model and just emphasising the basics is something that shouldn't be beyond our playing group.

Under Hocking, Port has made small tweaks to the game plan and will borrow from the Cats: they will have two ruckmen, playing one-on-one will be more prevalent than zoning, and pressuring the Hawks' prime possession players will be first preference.

At least we had a good week on the track. ;)

At least, like most weeks, the first 8-10 minutes will indicate the extent to which we will be torn a new one allowing all of us an early get-out clause. The optimist in me hopes a milestone game combined wth a post-sacking performance will be enough to keep the final margin under 8 goals. The pessimist sees a performance where we struggle to score and see a flood of Hawthorn goals of biblical proportion as our regular non-contributors squib contests, fumble the football and cough it up under pressure, handing GoPower multiple options for the Spud thread.

to think we can win would be optimistic {to say the least } but to play with purpose , be competitive, show some guts and earn back a bit of respect as a member of the afl would be a step in the right direction.

Looking forward to this, my drink of choice this one. Take the scoreboard and the fact we wont win out of the equation, and we have a true test of whos who in the zoo today. The best quide to the 013 season. It has been a huge head raaah raaaah at the club this week and the microscope is ready. Fair to say for ANY player today that gets constantly beaten or fails to deliver, please clean out the locker. Matt and hodge will be an interesting one, no love lost there.

The only thing I would argue is that you perhaps should have said 'insanity' instead of 'optimistic' :)

Just do the basics, try and take the game on and give us some small positives in terms of performance. We're not going to get close to winning but maybe this could be like when we played Geelong down at SS. Close-ish on the scoreboard but only because it's an absolute scrap.

Nathan Blee is reason alone to watch guys. Been waiting to see him come in all season, he will be hungry for it and I expect him to show more fight then many others have all season.
