Interesting for this week who may play given the Injury list and the fact that Schmidt and Phillips didnt play at all and add also how many weeks may amon get

I read this over on SydneySwans.com.au

"Adam Schneider is also doubtful after he was forced to have a pain-killing injection to his ankle during the game."

I had no idea about that ahhh i dont wanna lose Schneider

man i just hope who ever drops out gets a good rest
and i know anyone who comes up from the reserves will be doing anything 2 play their best

Definites:
In: Dempster Barry
Out: Buchanan (susp.) Brennan (hamstring)

Maybes and their replacements
In: LRT Schmidt Grundy
Out: Everitt (back) Schneider (ankle) O'Loughlin (?)

My changes this week:

IN: Dempster, Schmidt, Barry, LRT, Brabazon, Grundy
OUT: Brennan (hamstring), Buchanan (susp), Everitt (back), Crouch (groin), Schneider (ankle), Hall (rest)

Brabazon is just a wildcard I thought I might chuck in there.

Brabazon has been excellent and is our future running midfielder. When he does make his debut he won't be dropping back. It may not be this week though!

I am sure I read somewhere that Crouch sufffered a mysterious groin injury (although I honestly believe that was his last game in the R&W but we will see).

I noticed on Saturday night he pulled up quickly at one point and sort of felt for his groin and then read he had a groin injury.

Leo leaps back for Swans

SYDNEY got a badly-needed boost this morning, ahead of Sunday's AFL game with Hawthorn, when All-Australian defender Leo Barry confirmed his return from injury.

The seventh-placed Swans are limping into September, their top-four hopes dashed by Saturday's defeat by Collingwood in Melbourne, while Barry Hall (groin) and Peter Everitt (foot) are carrying injuries.

Coach Paul Roos is considering resting Hall and Everitt for the final home and away game at the Sydney Cricket Ground, while in-form midfield player Amon Buchanan has been suspended for one week.

Dashing defender Tadhg Kennelly will spend at least another week out with a knee injury, but Roos today declared Barry a certain starter following five weeks out with a hamstring injury.

"(Hall's) pulled up sore with his groin injury (but) we'll give him every chance to play," Roos told a Sydney radio station.

"Tadhg won't play but yeah, Leo will definitely play."
Another of Sydney's 2005 premiership players, Lewis Roberts-Thomson, is also in line for a recall from the reserves to face the Hawks.

Sydney can't finish any higher than seventh or lower than eighth, so Roos has shifted his focus on to finals form.

"This weekend's game is more about getting our team sorted out for the following week," he said.

"We can't improve our position this week so we have to take advantage, whether it's a rest for Barry Hall or Spida Everitt, who is struggling with a foot injury, bringing players back like Leo Barry or Lewis Roberts-Thomson.

"We have to play better than we did last week but we also want to improve our team (for the finals)."

Hall has been way down in form this season after earning All-Australian honours the past three years.

Roos said the injury his spearhead is carrying is taking away from some of his greatest strengths.

"I think with the groin injury, when you look at exactly what he's got, a lot of it is the powerbase and setting yourself when you're marking," he said.
"Two of his biggest strengths are his speed and his ability to hold his ground in a marking contest.

"So with the injury he's had it is very debilitating on what he can and can't do on match day. Barry doesn't train much so we don't get to practice our forward structure.

"They're issues we need to keep addressing, but they're not going to go away so we just have to find a way to get it done."

--------------------------------------------------

This is good news as a strong defence is very important against Hawthorn.

IN:Barry, LRT, Schmidt
OUT:Buchanan, Brennan, Hall

Crouch may be dropped and could be replaced by Dempster.
If Barry doesn't play Dempster will certainly come in and Laidlaw may replace Crouch if he is fit. However I think they will give Crouch another game.

We all know the Swans are having pace problems in the midfield and probably the best option would be to bring back Paul Kelly. He is only 38 and i heard somewhere that he is playing AFL again for his local club :D

So Paul is lining up for Sydney again is he?

Very impressive

Ah thats great 2 hear Leo will be in
thats a boost just hope he is really in good form so he doesnt risk a chance of getting hurt

Edit: I just spoke 2 Leigh Schneider Adam Schneiders brother about Snides ankle and he said "Adam says its still a little sore but nothing to worry about and will be right too go for the weekend and be back kicking goals against the hawks"

B: Paul Bevan, Leo Barry, Craig Bolton
HB: Ben Mathews, LRT, Nick Malceski
C: Luke Ablett, Brett Kirk, Nic Fosdike
HF: Ryan O’Keefe, Luke Vogels, Jarrad McVeigh
F: Michael O'Loughlin, Heath Grundy, Nick Davis
Foll: Darren Jolly, Jude Bolton , Adam Goodes
I/C: Ed Barlow, Jared Moore, Ted Richards, Tim Schmidt
EMG: Sean Dempster, Simon Philips, Mathew Laidlaw
IN: Schmidt, Barry, LRT, Grundy, Moore, Vogels
OUT: Brennan (hamstring), Buchanan (susp), Everitt (back), Crouch (groin), Schneider (ankle), Hall (rest)

I presume the plan is to use either Richards or LRT as Second ruck, in which case the other will be in defense.

If I could, I'd drop McVeigh and Ablett too but we just can't cover for them with the amount of injuries to running players we have.

As I said on the Hawthorn board, despite Roos saying he'll be resting these injured players, after these years of conservatism I find it hard to believe too many changes will be made.

Anyone remember earlier in the year when the team was playing hopelessly and Roos said he'd make "radical changes"..I think only one change was made.

Edit: Pretty pedantic of you Ugg. :)
