possible trades for Tyson Stenglien?

I don't rate him that highly to be honest. I know he's quick and can really jump, but he's very inconsistent.

He has been unlucky with injury this year, earlier on, he was in great form. He does pick up alot of touches but sometimes his disposal can be questional.
I dont want to trade him to be honest he is an excitment machine and a player who will be very handy down forward, lets face it nobody could out jump him.
I just dont want to be left empty handed ala Port with Stevens.

I really dont think a player like Burton could provide anything for our team. We really need another tall defender. Does Adelaide have any spares lieing around?

We have got a couple who have just been promoted to our list from the Rookies, but nothing I think would interest you.
Our best backman is Mcgregor and IMO he is an untouchable.
We have really struggled for a big back man, we now have Rutten but he is the only one.
Your welcome to have Perrie and have him as a backman, we had him down there for a few games and he played a great game against Richmond, nearf BOG, but i guess having a good game against Richmond isnt hard :p

What's the chance of you guys throwing in Jericho into the equation? I really rate this guy, and I understand you guys do too over there, so it's unlikely. I'd be willing to part with a 1st rounder plus Adkins/Chambers or someone like Paul Johnson- a replacement tall forward for Jericho. Is he off limits?

I agree with that Jod.

We are chockful of midfielders - and Stenglein isn't that good imo.Perhaps Adelaide should ask the question of the Dorkers?

The Carr won will be interesting, i wonder if Freo are prepared to play hard ball with Carr after what happened last year at Port!

The situation will be a little different this time around. Stevens was able to more-or-less hold Port to ransom because he knew full-well that if no deal was struck, he could go into the pre-season draft and stand an as close to 100% chance you can get of being picked up by a Victorian side. Carr wont have that option available, as if he does end up in the pre-season, Fremantle wont have first crack at him, or even the first 8 or 9 cracks at him.

If Fremantle do want him, they're going to have to trade for him. Port have shown that they have no qualms about leaving players at the mercy of the PSD if they don't get a fair offer, and it would be fair to say that policy wouldn't change.

I think Jericho is off limits, i would hope he is but who knows with the Adelaide football Dept?!?
I understand what you mean about West Coast being chockers with young midfielders. Thats what we are missing, and its such a shame for us seeing Stenglien more than likely leaving.
Obviously you guys dont rate him as highly as we do which is expected and its going to be tough at trade time....i think the best bet is draft picks!

Stenglein and McGregor for a first round pick + chambers?

How's about no.

Chambers would be of no worth to the Crows. We need in and under players, not more runners. We have plenty of players like Chambers, who are average but will do a decent job when they get game time.

McGregor + Stenglein is worth far more than a first rounder, both touted as future leaders of the club, Mcgregor is the type of player you can build a defence around and there is no way we'd let these 2 go for only a first rounder.

I rate McGregor + Stenglein as equal to you giving us Waters/Butler + 2nd/3rd rounder.

to be honest, i think the eagles will back their youngsters in. Stenglien would be a good pick up but not worth anything more than a 2nd rounder, especially when we have good young kids coming through that will play a similar role to him (Selwood). I think if the crows asked for anything more than a second rounder, the eagles would say no. From the sounds of it you guys rate him highly as a future leader of your club and will be happy if he stays over there, so i guess it will be all good.

You make good points, but dont let the Roo's game fool you, nobody was able to finish anything in that game.
Stenglien is a very tough player, I watched him during the Showdown and he was awesome, he is very in and under, he is also very handy across the HBF too.
He is not a star but he is highly underrated IMO

Trade Rowan Jones and Cousin for Stenglein and first round pick and give the Captaincy to Judd which will cement in Perth for years to come
I hear some rumours he(Stenglein) will definitely leave Adelaide as long as WCE or Freo give up quality in return to Adelaide
Stenglein has new manager who is based in Perth which he changed few months back

Why not just give you Judd for Stenglein.

As i see it Stenglein wants to come back to Perth, Adelaide want to keep him. Adelaide supporters think he is Captain material and worth a 1st round pick, wherby Eagles supporters see him as someone who it would be nice to have but not essential to our plans. As an Eagles supporter I wouldn't want us to give up our 1st rounder for someone who doesn't offer us much more than we already have.

I am also sick to death of the Eagles being linked with every Western Australian who is coming out of contract.

Totally agree with you, RockOn! ;)
But I would include Aidan Parker in the package aswell!

I'd take that for sure. Personally, I think Jericho is extremely overrated and if I could get the Eagles first round pick for him I'd take it in a second.

McGregor is pretty much the best CHB in the comp. Hasn't really been beaten in two seasons I don't think.

No touchie.

Now I rate McGregor, probably higher than most, but I think your going a little far with that comment. Bit like us saying Darren Glass is the best FB is the league.

Say that on the main board and they'd rip shreds off you.

But yes, Adelaide wouldn't trade the bloke.

I don't see why...who is better than him? McPharlin, Cornes etc, look flashier than him, but get beaten as well because they zone off. Leppitsch used to be the best but hasn't had that great a season.

McGregor has been an absolute rock the last two seasons and honestly hasn't been pantsed in any match at CHB.

Think about it in that way. And that is a CHB's job.

All those players you listed are better footballers and more damaging players from CHB than Ken McGregor.

I'm not saying he's not up there though with his consistently solid football in the position. That's why it's obvious the Crows won't trade him.

Incorrect. The NUMBER ONE role of a CHB is to negate their opponent. McGregor does this week in, week out. Cornes is more of a flanker and sometimes doesnt even have an opponent, while McPharlin is very good, but still gets beaten on the rebound at times.
