Maybe at the beginning but has more strings to his bow than both of them.
Gonna take CEY above Lyons if I have to make a call, maybe Gore can push Lyons out, but think he's underrated. CEY has real upside as a big bodied mid, think hes gonna have a breakout year with consistant 20+ possy games
Take your word on Gore.

He is a better runner than Lyons and a better kick. He has more polish than CEY too IMO.

The 'Premiership Window' is akin to the 'Revolution' that the pigs promise the other animals in Orwell's Animal Farm.

Always just over the horizon, a couple years away; little matter that we keep losing our best pieces for peanuts.

Missing out on Redden feels like a blunder given our lack of decent, experienced mids when West Coast already have half a list of them.
We'll arrive at Sugarcandy Mountain soon.

Anyone else think we should trade the second rounder we got from Geelong to Melbourne for Bernie.

Throw the Bernie Blanket on Danger twice a year. It will be worth it purely for the entertainment value.

Bernie Vince is 30. No way.

i hope we try to upgrade our pick 13 to pick 8 from GWS in the Hampton deal. Not sure how the points system works but if we can use our 2nd picks to give them the points equivalent they need for their academy players that would be a great result. Given our rookie upgrades not sure we need that all too many live selections. I probably havent put enough thought into this though.
Maybe pick 50 would've helped

VFL doesn't equal SANFL therefore it's not as simple as that. We should get Riley back if that's the case, had a great year in the VFL.
Gore played 11 games and came 3rd in their BnF, CEY was playing reserves at 19 and Lyons did play the odd good game for Glenelg.

Im not saying this kid is a superstar but he has more strings to his bow than both those.

Man I can already tell this trade period is going to be a bust.... No action again for afc..... How the hell do port manage to bring in players... Clearly not just the usual "people don't want to live in Adelaide" rubbish

''looking to add speed with people we are bringing in''...................did this sound like he meant through the draft or trade?
It was quite a round-a-bout sort of discussion. They asked David about Carlisle's value and he said it would depend how desperate you were for a KPP. For us it wouldn't be as high as other club's as we are looking to add speed (rather than a KPP).

So where to from here with picks #9, 13, 28 & 32?

With 2 rookie upgrades & lack of depth in the draft, I expect we will only use 3 picks max, perhaps only 2 depending on net player trades in. So we could well be looking to trade picks to move up in the draft.

Ins: Hampton (certainty), menzel (probable), another outside player (possible)

Outs: kerridge (probable)

Pick #28 & kerridge should net menzel & Hampton with Carlton's 3rd rounder.

Do we then use #32 on Anderson type, then take 2 live picks?

I hope he's good, I'm just not saying he's better than anyone else until I've seen them head to head at training or playing in the same team against equal competition. Plenty of people have the string but some can't tie a knot.

5 is too much for Carlisle, while Saints are also wanting Freeman...

5 for 13 and 28 could work.... Seems as if we are winning, but if Saints want Carlisle as badly as being reported, they trade 13 for Carlisle.

13 > Carlisle
24 > Freeman which still leaves them with a decent 2nd rounder in pick 28. May need something a little extra here to satisfy Pies for Freeman.

Pies could then on trade 24 and maybe a player or later pick swaps to Brisbane for Aish. Witts could be on the table?

Essentially Saints are giving up 5 for Carlisle, Freeman (a former pick 10) and pick 28. Not as bad as it seems.

It's day one of trade week and most "experts" have us about breaking even when factoring everything in for danger trade (we were never gonna break even on his actual no FA value). Also as good as confirmed that we're getting Hampton.

Port so far haven't done a thing.

Far out people on here are acting ****ing stupid.

Don't know much about Gore I must admit......from what I've seen and heard of him so far he is a kid of great character and work ethic, first at training last to leave type stuff....has a beautiful long kick, wins ball on the inside but also has a hard running outside game........wholy s**t we just traded in another Sloane!!!!!

The first day is barely over. We've already got Gore. Take a seat and relax for a moment.
