I've watched the first half. The easy misses in the opening minutes by Mayne ( and the one in the second: kick a freaking drop punt!) and Mundy and the howlers from Duff and Johnson cost us.
Pav was pretty good
Sandi very good. Fyfe worked very hard.

Fyfe impersonating Wayne Carey in his pomp a few times taking pack marks against 3 defenders was giving me the irits a bit! You need to re-sign him ASAP (as if you did not realise!). Would hate to see him go to a big Vic team.

Positives: Fyfe doing it all kicking goals winning ball on the inside. Our midfield was strong except in the last quarter when we lost clearances and contested ball. Zac Clarke developing as a forward and kicking goals for 2nd consecutive week. Our pressure was better but not sustained unfortunately in the final quarter.

Negatives: Apart from Clarke, dysfunctional forward line on saturday, with De Boer, Mayne, Ballantyne either not doing enough or missing easy set shots. Pav was down but it should not all fall on him again was great Clarke stepped up.

Yeah, a handful of those particular 'moments' where you say "what if". Then, on the other end, Port seemed to get a few lucky breaks that just meant they picked up those odd goals against the flow. Though we kept our noses in front, we really should have put decent scoreboard space between us which would have allowed us to control the game a bit better. If we had have taken our opportunities better and held off a couple of those lucky breaks, by the time the third quarter was rocking along, we could have been 5 or so goals up, instead we were 2 or so at the most, playing well, but unable to really get that space.
