The point is that so many thought we were not worthy of a top 4 finish and were confident tonight's game would be embarassing for us. Instead of giving some acknowledgement all I'm hearing 'is if Hawthorn kicked straight.....'

The only teams we didn't beat this year were Hawthorn and Collingwood/Roos (whom we played once) so I guess everyone else in the competition is soft.

But let us assume you played most of last year's top eight sides twice, would Adelaide have even made top four?

Sorry. I didn't think you stood a chance with 2 defenders down and Hawks with the extra week. Soft draw nonsense proved to be nonsense tonight. Great game. Brilliant coaching. Team full of talent. Terrible umpiring. Thanks for showing we have a better chance next week than I thought. Good luck next year (except when you're playing the Swans).

Nup, still don't understand what this thread is about. Crows were good tonight.

The Crows will probably never get such a good run in a season as they had this year.

Soft draw, no injuries, repeatedly playing teams with their best players either missing or injured.

I mean look at today. Hodge out, Gibson injured, not sure how many fit players the Hawks had at the end and the Hawks played well below their best and kicked terribly for goal.

They had a good year but next year will tell the story.
Oh come on now - we get to play port twice every year.

Only 1 win all year against top 4 teams.
Only 1 win in the finals, at home against 7th.
Couldn't get over a team missing it's All-Australian Norm Smith medallist captain who kicked 13 goals 19 to go with a few OOF's and didn't make the distances.

I think Crows supporters should be apologizing for acting like they were anything better than mid-table.

Commentators are very careful about what they say about umpiring. They want their job.
Stats mean nothing; if you blow the game due to bad kicking and great defence, so what?
I've always wondered about that. Over the years and from time to time, you do get games that are decided by poor umpiring. Everyone knows it, it gets talked about in forums, among friends, work colleaugues etc but you hear nothing from the commentators, the press or on TV. It is a shame really.

You do realise one of the major criticisms of the crows this year is that they got to play you lot twice.

Crows were very good tonight. Exposed Hawks on the rebound and fought superbly in the clinches. Problem was that they committed many players through the middle and let our running defenders pick loose players too easily. Conversely, each time it worked for Adelaide they exposed our One on One deficiencies.

you got a coach yet?

or do we have to put up with being insulted for having to play you twice again next year.

I was surprised how open the game was, made for very entertaining viewing IMO.

This thread was about a poster having a cry about the soft draw argument. The soft draw argument has been totally vindicated by the Crows' 20% record against top 4 sides and 33% record in finals.

lol.

I love it when simpletons start using percentages.

Do you not understand percentages? This should help you out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Percentage

If you still don't understand I'll make it even clearer. The Crows played 5 games against top four teams and won 1 of them. That's a 20% winning record. The Crows played 3 finals and won 1 of them. That's a 33% winning record.

Well done Adelaide. Umpires lost you the game.

Hawthorn had 32 scoring to shot to Crows 22 and Hawthorn had 64 insides 50s to Crows 38.
Had Hawthorn kicked straight like a top should then the game wouldn't of been that close the Umpires would of had no effect on the game.
I think its needs some presperctive here, Hawtorn let the Crows in the game with that performance tonight and not the Unpires letting the Hawks in the game.
Crows are a dam good side and i was very impressed with them, but reality of it all is poor kicking equals close games...

Wow, you can add and up and you can divide to make percentages.

you impress me with your maths...... too bad this is a football forum.

Grade 7 awaits you. Congrats.

If you dont like it you know where you can go....nothing much happening on the West choke board eh?

At least I don't need a thread full of apologies and praise to validate myself unlike some people in this thread who resort to petty name calling and abuse when they don't get their way like a petulant toddler having a temper tantrum.

Sums it up. The crows had a great ride this year and gave it a crack. Their list is very good and should improve.

Their campaign was lost 2 weeks ago.
