28. SPENCER, Jake $83,400
29. GUMBLETON, Scott $94,200
30. WALKER, Taylor $94,200

Not a bad team. Backline is awesome, but I think there are a few things to consider.

- Bench is good.
- Rather than getting Petrie and Fraser, I would get a Cox and a cheaper Ruck who will play, and probably get about 70 - 80.
- 2 Rookies in your backline is a bit of a risk.
- FWD is also very good.
- I would consider downgrading one of your gun backmen (Probably Newman) and one of your gun FWDs, and also consider the feedback about the Ruck to incorporate Cox, and have a more even spread accross your team. But hey, that's my take on things, I try to get a more even team as opposed more stars.

Try 5th time revised - Need advice, first time SC.....

Backs; Newman, Gilbee, Houli, Raines; - Suban/Slattery
Ellis, Malceski, J. Smith
Defence & Mids, whilst happy with & chock full of dollars...If i could down grade to up grade my forward line to make it complete i will...

You could downgrade JWS to Petterd and reduce risk without comprimising score to much. I would also consider finding a spot for Hill in the backline rather than midfield.

Midfielders; Ablett, J. McVeigh, S.Hill
J. Selwood, Gibbs, Cousins - Sidebottom/Dangerfeild

I think McVeigh is too injury prone for a premium player.
Rucks; B. Ottens, Mitch Clark - Meesen/Currie

I can live w my rucks....no concerns, unless suggested differently.
I think you will have problems fielding a side in the ruck division and will be forced to take more than one 0.
Forwards; Deledio, M. Richardson, S. Johnson, C Yarran
C. Rioli, Lucas, Higgins - Ziebell/Gumbleton

Forward line feels like it's 1/2 full 1/2 empty....worries w Yarran, Ziebell, Gumbleton. Throw Taylor Walker amongst those mentions too...suggestions on whole forward squad.
I like your forwards but would change Gumbleton to sidebottom and find a new midfield premium (there's always plenty)
Look forward to hearing from you all...:eek::D

Done some more re jigging, understanding that i'll have room to improve;

BACKS - OUT; JWS, Suban & Slattery
INS; Petterd, S. Hill & M. Hurley

MIDS - OUT; S. Hill, Sidebottom & McVeigh
INS; C. Bateman, Swallow & D. Rich

RUCKS - OUT; B. Ottens, Mitch Clark
INS; D. Hille, H. McIntosh

FORWARDS - OUT; C. Rioli, Gumbleton
INS; Skipworth, Sidebottom

Allowing options (Hodge & Franklin) to be added by the start or early season proper pending on form & return from injury. Being that, is it worth the risk of carrying them both knowing that even at 1/2 fitness they will be still valuable even not fully fit !?

Ok fellas I think I have finally got my team loking the way I want it.

Unfortunately I had to downgrade my defense a bit and also no Sidebottom or Yarran but boy the rest of the team looks awesome. :thumbsu:

Backs: Gofddard, Gilbee, C.Cornes, Malceski, Raines, Petterd, Hille(R. Suban, A. Rance)

Midfield: Bartel, Judd, Pendlebury, Dal Santo, Hasleby, Rich (Ziebell, Dangerfield)

Rucks: Cox, Ottens (Currie, Trengrove)

Forwards: Pavlich, O'Keefe, Goodwin, Delidio, Higgins, Skipworth, Grant (T.Walker, Gumbleton)

What does everyone think? :D

Cornes
Adcock
Malceski
S.Hill

Judd

Jolly
McIntosh

Franklin
Richardson
Didak
S.Johnson
Higgins
Skipworth
Ziebell

Suban

Could possibly upgrade Masten/Skipworth and take out a defender, but can't see any other defenders around the 300k mark doing any good this year?

I dunno about Goodwin, better options then him, same as Petterd.

Other than that :thumbsu: ... oh and Grant?

Here is my team:

B: B.Goddard - L.Gilbee - C.Cornes
J.Adock - X.Ellis - N.Malceski - S.Hill

(N.Suban, A.Rance)

M: C.Judd - J.Selwood - B.Gibbs
D.Kerr - N.Foley - D.Rich

(M.Robinson, T.Swift)

R: D.Cox - H.MacIntosh

(J.Seller, D.Currie)

F: M.Pavlich - B.Deledio - P.Chapman
S.Lucas - S.Higgins - H.Skipworth
C.Yarran

(J.Ziebell, S.Gumbleton)

Emergencies are not set in stone, waiting on appearances in the NAB cup. I have 53k left. I feel my fwd line is a little week but hoping to upgrade Lucas and Skipworth.

My main questions are over my midfield. Judd is a no brainer, Selwood i think will excel again and not get much of a tag and Gibbs should explode this year after bulking up and wont recieve a tag. Im not sure about Kerr and Foley any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Really like that team, it's very well researched and balanced IMO. Foley depends on if he gets the tag. With no tag he will rip it up but if tagged he will not improve on last year.

Kerr has had issues with a tag and fitness so I don't like him much but I understand the selection because he is underpriced. I'd say watch him closely along with others such as Cousins, Dal Santo, Kornes and T.Johnson.

Gilbee is another to watch closely as to how his role will effect him.

Judd_Magic can't help but notice how similar our teams are! 21 players the same! So of course I will say I like the look of yours.

Question mark over Grant, and think Goodwin could be past his prime, reckon you can do better than him. Also combine him with O'Keefe who has also been a gun in the past but is now getting on a little and you have a bit of risk. But you need balls in this game!

Here is my team as it stands:

Backs: Goddard, Fisher, Gilbee, Cornes, Raines, Petterd, Suban (Rance, Petrenko)

Mids: Judd, Pendles, Cross, Selwood, Masten, Rich (Dangerfield, M. Robinson)

Rucks: Cox, Ottens (Trengove, Currie)

Fwds: Pavlich, Deledio, J.Brown, Richo, Higgins, Skipworth, Ziebell (Gumbleton, Sidebottom)

What you guys think? My dilemma in my head is this.
Option 1: Malceski, Haselby, Hille, Franklin
Option 2: Fisher, Masten, Ottens, J.Brown
(currently have option 2)

Cheers

Thanks DanA much appreciated.

Foley - Thats what im hoping Cousins can do for him. Also i assume Deledio will play majority midfield and should draw a tagger so i can see Foley getting on his own regularly.

Kerr - The price has sucked alot of people in and im still on the fence regarding his selection so i dont know whether to keep him. I was thinking of downgrading to Boak but i already have Gibbs and Selwood to have another break out year so i could either upgrade to K.Cornes/Richo or any other player from 480-530k.

I still think Gilbee is a good bet. I did have newman in ahead of him as i had him last year and he served me very well.

Thoughts?

Backs: Hodge - Gilbee - Burgoyne - Shaw - Cornes - Hill
(O Keefe D - Suban)

Mids: Ablett - Bartel - Judd - Murphy - Selwood - Rich
(Ziebell - Dangerfield)

Rucks: Warnock - Currie
(White - Bailey)

Forwards: Pavlich - Franklin - Brown - Richardson - Higgins - Yarran - Gumbleton
(Hogan - Brown M)

I know my rucks are weak will change after Nab cup but its a tactic i have used succesfully in the past as it is only two players, i beielive Ablett to be worth the $712,000 as he often scores enough for two players and a lock for captain.

Alright rev, biggie, you 2 boys seem to be the gurus, I would like yours and others thoughts on my updated team...

Backs: Goddard Newman Gilbee C.Cornes Surjan Houlihan Suban
(Petrenko, Rance)

Mids: Cross Selwood Pendlebury Kerr Masten Rich
(Ziebel, Dangerfield)

Rucks: Cox Jolly (Currie, Trengrove)

Forwards: Pavlich Deledio J.Brown Giansiracusa Higgins Skipworth
Sidebottom (Gumbleton, M.Brown)

Any suggestions would be very useful

Here's my team

Backs: Mattner, Lake, Chad Cornes, Lockyer, C.Brown, Raines, Hill
(Suban, Rance)

Midfield: L.Power, K.Cornes, J.Wtason, Kerr, T.Tuck, Rich
(Ziebell, Dangerfield)

Rucks
Cox, Kreuzer
(Currie, Vickery)

Forwards:
Pavlich, O'Keefe, Richardson, Tarrant, Veszpremi, Higgins, Skipworth
(Sidebottom, Gumbleton)

if ya could give me ya thoughts on my team, it would be appreciated, cos i'm not really convinced that its a winning team but yet dont no who to trade. thanks

Think im on a winner with this combo and hopefully dont need to touch it too much anymore? Tell me what you think...if it sucks big fat **** id like to know now rather than pat myself on the back for the next 3 weeks then realise im in deep shit :D

B - Goddard, Newman, Gilbee, Cornes, Malceski, Houlihan, Hill (Rance, Suban)
M - Judd, Pendles, Kerr, Hasleby, Masten, Rich (Beams, Swift)
R - Cox, McIntosh (Currie, Trengove)
F - Pav, Lids, Brown, Richo, Vezpremi, Higgins, Skipworth (Gumby, Walker)

There's a few i know ill need to watch but for the most part im pretty happy. Rookies will probably change though.

Hi all,

I'm new to Big Footy and enjoying all the great posts. I'm struggling with my team a bit. Not sure on a few things. Please help.

BACKS: Goddard, Embley, CCornes, Houli, Adcock, XEllis, Houlihan
BACK EMERG: SHill, NSuban
Not sure about my bench.

MIDS: Judd, Kerr, Cross, Cotchin, Higgins, Rich

RUCK EMERG: ??
No idea who are rookie rucks who are likely to play

FWDS: BHarvey, Didka, AWalker, Lucas, Veszpremi, Yarran, Siebell
FWD EMERG: MBrown (WC), ??
Need another forward

Any help would be much appreciated. I may not have enough guns? More weighted towards players worth $00-500K. Please help!

Our teams are quite similar.

22 of the 30 are the same. But I like my differences better. :D :thumbsu:

And I actually like option two better. I think there are question marks over Franklin starting, and even if he does start round 1, he may start off slow with the interrupted pre-season. Fisher is a gun, Masten will have a big year.

Hahah all the best to you then, lets hope for the both of us at least 22 of our players have a big year! Yeh the reports on Franklin don't sound promising for a good start, hopefully he dips in price early then snap him up just before he starts kicking bags!
and fisher is definitely what is drawing me to option 2, had him last year, solid as a rock
cheers for feedback, any others please feel free, good or bad

Hey there. This is my first attempt at Super Coach so any help would be great :) Here is my my team as of today...i am sure it will change before the season starts.

Backs: Newman, H.Shaw, Bock, Birchall, Houli, J.Smith S.Hill (emerg: Egan, Rance)

Midfield: Bartell, Richardson, Gibbs, Palmer, Cotchin, Rich (emerg: Dangerfieild, Swift)

Rucks: Cox, Hille (emerg: Currie, McGrath)

Fowards: O'keefe, Bradshaw, Porplyzia, Rioli, Alweyn Davey, Watts (emerg: Ziebell, Gumbleton)

Not too sure in the Ruck Dept., both are big guns, but the bench is very weak. Fwds also looks a tad weak, have a few ideas in my head, buy any suggestions would be great. Thanx :thumbsu:

MY UPDATED TEAM THOUGHTS ANYONE ??

Judd, Pendlebury, Boyd, Kerr, Polkinghorne,
Rich, Robinson, Cockie
Cox, Jolly, White, Currie.

mids

(p.dangerfield, r.bail)

rucks
h.mcintosh, m.kreuzer

forwards
m.pavlich, l.franklin, j.porplyzia, b.fevola, s.lucas, s.higgins, t.hentschel
(b.dowler, s.gumbleton)

- I know rucks are weak but I don't rate ruckman, only 2 good ones in the comp. Don't wanna spend $600k+ on Cox, and I don't think Hille will have as good a year as last year, hence his value will go down.

- The tradeoff is the other 3 areas are all strengthened. Lucas, Higgins and Hentschel all coming back from disrupted seasons should be on the up in forwards. While Hasleby and Coughlan in the middle, and also Cornes, Bartram, Maguire and Malceski in the backs should do the same.

- Heard some good things about Rohan Bail from the dees so he's a mid emergency. Max Bailey is a chance to play reguarly for that price ($94k), hoping Gumbleton turns it on this year, and the forgotten man of football, Beau Dowler, pick 6 in the '05 draft gets a gig for $94k.

Well here we go again 4 the 3rd time so far....no doubt will change throughout the NAB Cup!!

All 1st year players aren't set in concrete just yet other than Rich whom I think will b a starter come round 1 so I will monitor the NAB Cup games and then decide closer 2 the start......Cousins is an obvious risk however one that I'm willing 2 take!!

Any comments from others would b great!!

BACKS
Shaw H. Cornes

I wouldn't touch Heath Shaw. To say that teams have worked him out is an understatement, no wonder he's cheap as chips compared to previous years. Doesn't matter how hungry he is, all teams do is stick a hack tagger on him and he won't get a touch. There are better options, even for his price. ;)

My side as it stands:

Backs: B.Goddard, S.Fisher, C.Cornes, N.Malceski, J.Smith, A.Raines, R.Petterd (S.Hill, N.Suban)
Mids: C.Judd, S.Pendlebury, S.Thompson, J.Selwood, C.Masten, D.Rich (P.Dangerfeild, J.Ziebell)
Rucks: D.Cox, D.Hille (J.White, D.Currie)
Forwards: M.Pavlich, B.Deledio, J.Brown, P.Veszpremi, S.Higgins, H.Skipworth, C.Yarran (S.Sidebottom, H.Ballantyne)

Questions:
1. Is Hille worth his price tag? Will he back up his mid 08 form?
2. Is it worth having a $94k 4th ruck, or should I save $11k and downgrade to a rookie, as the chances of them being needed is slim
3. Is there a better $94k cash cow back than Suban?

Any opinions welcome

Hard to know if Hille is worth it, essendon bandf from last year check form in Nab cup. Pricey option with cox and he but money elsewhere would be worth it.
Go for a cheap 4th ruck that is playing first round. Watch Meeson also Melbourne dont have many ruckmen. (He is still $94 k though).
Suban could be a goer, again other backmen around that will play round 1.
Ive gone for slattery at this stage but still evolving.
Love your backline...
Masten and Rich might not go straight to 100+ players (I am looking closely at this one)
Forward line risky, not enough guaranteed consistent big scorers.

My team as it stands now
