I got to see Salopek a few weeks ago, I wasn’t sure if he was FS as I didn’t know the old man was down in Victoria. Seems a really good leader, decent size and mobility aswell but very skinny so isn’t just dominating due to size.

Rodan is fairly solid but is fairly powerful as a forward/mid

Steven Salopek's from Narre Warren originally and played for the Dandenong Stingrays in 2002.

Gil looks a very promising type. Intercept KPDs are worth there weight in gold, so it wouldn’t surprise me to see him rated in the Top 20 in the 2025 draft.

I’ve got high hopes for Xavier Walsh who is a competitive beast, so if both can come on, that’s a very enviable key defensive pairing for the years ahead.

Yeah I’ve been following his form in the under 16’s and he’s been doing very well. Haven’t watched him yet to know what sort of player he is but think i read he’s 192ish cm so a big lad for under 16s

Reckon he’s got an older bro running around for centrals as well, not getting the same attention

I see there are a few f/s coming up that are also in a northern state academy... Kingsley's son is one of them aswell as Hodge's. Surely a f/s has a greater claim to a player than the academy... otherwise its basically zoning re-branded for the Northern clubs.

That's exactly what it is (and somehow people still have sympathy for these clubs having the rules abruptly changed on them, give me a spell).

Nick Blakey was eligible for the Swans academy or North father son and went with the Swans. The academy is almost always going to win out in that instance.

I just noticed that Tevita Rodan is a member of Essendon's NGA, possibly going to lose another one.

Just what the NGA is for hey, the son of a guy who moved to Australia at a young age and played nearly 200 AFL games!

Again, to think people are actually worried about ruining the plans of clubs who were planning on partaking in these rorts this year!

Lol what a ****ing farce.

NGA just needs to be ****ed right off. It’s too unbalanced around the league.

Also I’ve brought this up before

Tevita Rodan = eligible for nga because dad born overseas

Jack lukious = not eligible for nga when his dad was born overseas

Huh ?

Thank god for the NGA, how else would young master Rodan have ever discovered Australian Rules football if not for Essendon's tireless work developing him.

As far as I'm concerned the Northern Academies were only formed to decrease the amount of Vic talent leaving their state and its only their success that has triggered the backlash.
So the AFL decide to pull back father/son too seeing everyone now has an equal chance.
