Potential training breach?

Why not sack the board they control? Also what's the point of a membership with no game access if the AFL is just going to take the money away?
This might be our only chance to threaten the club to stand up to the AFL. If there's enough supporters willing to ask for a refund if they don't fight the AFL on the punishment, maybe they will listen.

I think the joke is that even with 8 years of extra salary cap cash, he still couldn't afford a mop.

ha ha

As if he couldn't duck down to the shops for one

Well no - he was quite clear we had breached rules. Quite clear.

And he’s also been clear they can’t continue to train in pairs, they have to stay in their room and can only do any training alone.

They may have thought they’d obtained permission, but were mistaken on that fact.

Because it was a mistaken belief the cops went easy on us and didn’t fine us.

All I will say is the Crows had Prior approval and were allowed to train outside,
The unclear section may be around how many together. But they had permission to train within the boundaries of the property,
And they are still training Outside, they are not confined to there room they are confined to the boundaries of the property they are on.
Just like any other person coming from interstate, Please do not mix up the Interstates with the Overseas quarantine restrictions.

I’ve had a closer look at this. We didn’t have an exemption. There’s no provision for exemptions per se. You can be exempted but only on the grounds of being an essential worker.

We don’t qualify as essential workers, we don’t fit any category. We can’t have been under the impression we were essential workers, otherwise we would not have gone to the trouble of booking the resort. We knew we had to quarantine.

The only confusion that could have arisen was what we were allowed to do during quarantine. I don’t believe SAPOL would have told them they could train in groups during quarantine, when they have no power or authority to do so.

The only logical conclusion was that, in querying what we could do, we have somehow failed to make it clear we were going there to quarantine and SAPOL thought it was a normal training camp.

The only person able to give either a discretionary exemption in full or in part would be the relevant minister - certainly not SAPOL.

Ask SAPOL directly, you may be surprised. And Approval comes from the health department but SAPOL have to administer them and you can get approvals thru them.

Regardless of the legal rights or wrongs of this, it is still amazing and disappointing that our club - despite a review and 'changes' - seems to still be no 'different' to be able to still make something out of nothing in any negative aspect possible. If they can make something out of nothing, let it be a premiership cup!
I'm not a fan of Nicks saying he takes responsibility unless it was his direct instructions for them to kick together like that. I feel it shirks the responsibility from those there and responsible to be making on the spot decisions. Is he surrounded by mindless sheep? Our club lacks people with composure in football situations, coaching and players, and they need to stand up, own it and learn quick. Not be shielded.

Im not against Nicks taking responsibilty - its what leaders do.

Its what happens to those in the firing line in the future that matters

It was a playing group error, thus the 2 leaders of the footy department wear the responsibility.

Kelly and Nicks have been great IMO

Interesting point,
The only question I have is it looking more like only 8 players were involved, and all think being said it's looking like Hart was not there at there time,
While we Know Doedee and Hartigan were at the Novetal were they part of the 8 that stuffed up. if so they need to be spoken too,
and any other more senior player if they were part of that group.

Agree 100% about Kelly and Nicks.
