Quality... lacks a few details though to make it one of those memorable ones you tell your grandkids about
But it's short and to the point so with your Alzheimer's you may be able to at least remember it :D

Just walked past the guys doing sprints. Strange, the speed differential over about 40m between the players. And the sprints were a sort of staggered take off . Not sure what that was about. Some pretty solidly built guys though.

Oh, Bugger that was the ACT Brumbies. Still I reckon the tigers would be running around being yelled at by a guy with less hair than he used to have as well.

I usually do my prints at Officeworks. All the officeworks guys are very scrawny and young compared to the solidly built guys you saw. And I've noticed 40m prints do take a lot longer than smaller ones. Not sure what this has to do with Richmond but thanks for the update.

Rather the word was 'winners'!
Just being competitive is often not enough.
That's so fundamental. 'Winners'. Where do you think that comes from?

I watched that amazing record breaking run to get us into finals and questioned why we folded so badly once we got there.

It still boggles my mind today.

You can't say we weren't competitive before hand - yet on the day in the EF?

So yes. Winners.

Does that mean having more productive cattle on the park? Not stretching the talent we had to the limits?

I just like we have more naturally competitive beasts on the field after last years fold in that department.

Competitiveness has to run deep naturally rather than squeezing the last ounce of a team willing but on their last legs.

Seems to me we went to the well once too often last year. Tried to squeeze too many times and doing so with young players and the whole team folded.

2017?

How do you reckon the other players will feel having recruited more competitive players as opposed to other years when we focused on 'good people'?

Dunno what makes a winner but some people have it and some do not.
You can be a fine upstanding citizen, a hard worker and very committed but real winners have an intangible something that elevates them to do special things in the heat of a critical battle/game.

Good news is, I reckon Balme is a winner (whatever that might be) and so even in his first pre-season with us it seems we have made some real positive moves...

Would be funny if he did say winner(s) as their would be an excess of positive chaps pointing out how we lost 3 finals in a row and how we haven't won a flag in 36 years... damned if you do damned if you don't :)

Thought it was interesting re: the interview with the new boxing coach. Can only assume then John Vickery got the ass with Ty?

Think Greg 'Clanger' Kleynjans Port Adelaide history sealed the deal.

Well spotted. Fixed.
That's what comes of doing a quickie post between Christmas functions. True, I did walk past the Brumbies doing sprint training.

What's happening with Tiger training. haven't heard about it for ages. I suppose there is a thread about training somewhere.

Shame. I thought he was working well personally.

Nothing much until the end. Then he said 'we are trying to instill more that discipline and respect at Richmond'.
1) That's good on its own.
2) Is this a reaction to a culture that showed less respect for all, and less discipline on performance and taking accountability for your own actions?

Anyway, good but a puff piece overall.

The board goes positive - cut the spin, only results matter.
The board goes realist - where's the inspirational leadership speeches:mad:
