Wasn't called 'hook foot' for nothing.Sumich was definitely a bit of a whipping boy, usually based around his set shot accuracy.

And the fact he nodded off when being put in a headlock by Danny Southern. SoftSumich was definitely a bit of a whipping boy, usually based around his set shot accuracy.
I used to knock around with Sutho, before he got drafted to the Doggies, he actually had trained with WC for a while before he did his knee and then got overlooked, he was a hard Kent, always did heaps of boxing, wrestling, and his old man was hard as nails, ex army SASAnd the fact he nodded off when being put in a headlock by Danny Southern. I didn't say it was rational. But definitely a whipping boy at times.I mean also kicked 111 in just his 3rd year, was our leading goal kicker in seven seasons including both premiership years so was a proper gun. Kicked over 500 in 150 games. Did have spells of inaccuracy so I do agree and sometimes made the easy look difficult. Eagles legend nonetheless

There is no shame on being choked out by Sutho, that’s on him.
Yeah I think you're right. He's not the quickest guy around but he does try and do the right thing and tries to be constructive. I think with a bit more class and pace around him he'll be OK.I definitely think there's a player there worth working with - I just think he was a victim of our outdated stop/kick sideways game style. He's not a lockdown defender, he's a rebounder (much like Jetta but without the laser boot) and if he can be allowed to play that game then I think he will flourish. Getting him to mark the deepest small forward is not his strength and I think he's been forced into playing that position a few times and has suffered coz of it.
BigBoomer, for those with free education and cheap housing.
Langdon or Lamb? Langdon couldn't take a mark and Lamb kept getting caught. Like all whipping boys though they had value in hard workWasn't one in 92

From memory he copped a lot more stick later in his career as Malthouse used him more as a decoy to take the opposition best defender out of the contestSumich was definitely a bit of a whipping boy, usually based around his set shot accuracy.
