long time lurker here, thought i might share some quick thoughts/observations on training this morning:
-nic started to the side but quickly integrated with the main group
-waterman and bazzo spent most the session to the side running
-hurn looking very fit
-oscar has put on a lot of muscle in the last year, looks very strong
-clark looked a lot leaner than last year
-chesser looks special. fast, strong very nice skills. get excited
-shuey did full training. injury seems to have been overblown
-big emphasis on set shots
-very good senior numbers. yeo and foley trained to the side, and barrass came very late and only ran a couple laps, but otherwise looking good
-tk looking very good, strong and leaner than last year.
-boots and yeo left early
-chesser, hough, winder, trew, and ledwards trained separately for a while. not sure why but simmo worked with them
-SPS on light duties, and spent a while waking around with an assisntant

Gee Chesser...

Everyone jumped on the “fat” bandwagon and ran with it so now it’s become truth. We were definitely unfit for professional sport but that was because almost our entire starting 22 had no preseason or was impacted with covid. Very hard to come back from when it affects your preseason that badly.

It was pretty much unanimous on this board that we were in for a very rough year well before our first game. If we have a decent run with injuries I don’t see how we’ll be in the conversation for wooden spoon again, we’ll likely push back up into that 10-13 region, which is probably the worst place to be during a rebuild

His manager, Doogs said on HBG that he's trimmed down to play more of that wing role. I'm not sure how I feel about that, surely we drafted him on his WAFL strengths which is as an inside guy? Is this gonna be like Matty Allen and Tom Lamb, where we ask them to bulk up or trim down to switch into a different role every season?

Chesser trained with the main group which is a positive sign .
Only players not seen at training McGovern , K Hunt , A Gaff and Tom Barrass .
Yeo worked away from the main group and looked frustrated at times , maybe Yeo plays HBF mostly for the remainder of his career unfortunate but the way it is .....

The arrogance of Gaff after the season he had …

weren't winder and trew delisted?

Bring inside bull Clark into the club because his wafl form playing in the guts was just too good to pass up.. (even trade back in to get him... is that right?)

Don't play inside bull at all in the centre in 2022.

Dump inside bull in the wafl to help the spud amateur Beagles team.

Following year ask inside bull to slim down and play where everyone goes to die in this team... the wing.

Only 2nd year btw

Also in the same lot of photos the club put up it looks like Jamo has also put on a fair bit of mass during the off season.

Yes, I noticed that too: expecting a break-out year for him. He looks very fit along with it.

Or (really sorry for mentioning) Jarrod Brander on a wing, which was never going to work

Our MC/recruiters seems to see something noone else does.I posted the HBG interview a few pages back. If true (and no reason to believe it isnt) have to question wtf they are thinking, Clark isn't and i really doubt will ever will be a wing, hes an inside bull that I think could do damage in that position at AFL level. And the one crack he ever got close to it at it at AFL level he actually did pretty well.

The reality is that without a good pre season training block to build fitness you dont have a season worth remembering
