I'm guessing Chesser has spent the last year and a half in the gym considering he hasn't been able to run. One positive I guess. Hopefully hasn't lost any of his speed

He’s just been trying to fill out the jumper they gave him I believe.
He’ll be pissed when he finds out about NB.

Was mentioned in last nights news, a calf/leg thing pretty sure, not serious...him and Shuey two old warhorses...hope they can string some games together-together in 2023?
The same speak we had last year. Treating us like we wouldn't know our arse from our elbow. Might as well say "He had an ouchy and we gave it a rub and a kiss and stuck a Thomas the Tank Engine bandaid on it as it's Elliots favourite. . They basically say nothing.

Shuey :
“He had a little bit of a tweak a couple of weeks ago. He’s been managing that and working his way through it,” Bell told SEN.
“With the running programs over the off-season, little things can happen. It was great to have Luke out there.
“He was running well and doing the things he needs to do. He should be ready to go when the older guys return. He’s been in good knick.”

Yeo:
“He’s working through his program and progressing well. He’s a player that’s super important to us,” Bell said.
“He’s someone we want to get back out there on the park and playing at his best.
“The majority of people in footy saw glimpses when he went to halfback and started to rebound strongly and showed the strength and power that he has and the aggressive nature that he brings.”

Love how Bell dodged the question of Yeo’s current fitness status.

What I would like to see is something along the lines of.

In regards to Eliot, scans show he has a slight tear on the upper Soleus of his right calf. This is a new injury for Eliot and will restrict his movement when trying to change angles during our full training sessions. As a result we will restrict Eliot to straight line running hydrotherapy and bike work whilst working in unison with our Physiotherapists. The injury should heal within a 2 week window in which further scans will confirm his progression.

Was there any sign of J Hunt?
Hunt was said to be away until the first week of December.

Given he played finals with Melbourne it’s possible he’s not contractually obligated to start training until December 12

What I don't get is... who actually cares? Why even play this charade.

Seriously. Are rival clubs concerned with the team who finished on the bottom of the ladder, 4 months out from the season?

Legit couldn't think of anything less interesting to Geelong, Brisbane, Sydney etc etc than Yeo's fitness. Or Shuey's. Or any of our below average list.

Probably because he's not due back at training until next month, so there's no need to explain why he didn't return with the 1st-4th year players? 🤷‍♂️

Don’t think the rival clubs care but Eagles fans and members do.

I think that's what he's saying - that it's not like hiding the info will give us this great tactical advantage over Geelong that'll give us the edge in next year's prelim. So why not just tell us as much as they can and look after fans/members.

I wouldn't mind if we were being vague say late 2018 surrounding Shep's injury or something - that makes sense, but in preseasons especially this one it just comes across as not giving a shit (which it probably is)

So, season ending injury then?

Wouldn't wish a Soleus tear on my worst enemy.

Exactly.

The club constantly plays coy with its members by leaving information out, or generally not sharing anything at all.

Just ask Fivey.

Doesn't tell us there's an eagles aflw scratchy because it's a "secret", yet it's plastered all over the opposition's social media feed, no fuss. I know its hard to believe... but some of us are actually interested in that sort of thing and you'd think if Nisbett had a brain, social media promotion and growing the fan base via engagement would be a priority?

They don't explain why the injury list never gets updated, and a player can be listed as 3 weeks for 3 weeks straight. Doesn't provide explanations for players randomly disappearing for chunks during the year yet not appearing on the injury list. If it's personal leave... say it's personal leave.

Club fan engagement has been a joke for some time. Gavin Bell glossing over injuries that eagles fans probably want an update on doesn't help. I for one would like to know what's going on with Yeo. Is this a new injury? He got put on ice in 2022 so has he not improved? He should be fresh going into pre season, that's generally the point in putting a player on ice.

Its just basic stuff. And yes, I mentioned all this when they sent out the fan survey a few months ago.

Maybe, just maybe, the reported Yeo injury is of little or no significance and isn’t worth mentioning. Especially whilst he’s still on leave

People were losing their shit over an article stating Shuey had done a calf and first training session he’s belting around the boundary and kicking footies. Had article not been written, nobody would have been any the wiser

Absolutely the club needs to improve its communication around injuries, among other things, but injury updates whilst players are still on leave probably aren’t necessary

Give an update, if required, when he returns

Mate…stick around for the draft and give yourself a month or 2 off footy.

You’ll feel much better!

More a draft pod but pretty generic info about Doogs clients. but at around 16 min mark starts talking about the guys already at WC including Bazzo and Williams.

And also....

Clark's trimmed down a bit to play a bit more of that wing role
