Read on, Jones injured too.
"It's great news that Toby does not require surgery, but he will be sidelined for 10-12 weeks so he will miss the first part of the season.
Fellow small forward Brent Daniels will miss this week's intra-club and next week's practice match after suffering a minor hamstring injury last week, which is unrelated to previous injuries.
Bedford 10-12
Daniels out for the next couple weeks
Probably puts Jones in the frame for an early debut even more
Absolutely. And I know injuries are part of a season, but for a person to be out of action for half the season due to a intra club simul is so frustrating. I also saw no reports of this injury from the club in their report of last week’s simulation?Incredibly disappointing.
Read on, Jones injured too.
Yep defintely think he's in the frame, not sure he's back to full training just yet but think he's doing a decent amount. He's talented and when he's played he's looked pretty goodHey guys,
Excuse the intrusion and hope this is okay
Sucks to hear about Daniels and Bedford. Hopefully Daniels is right for Round 1, as he's someone I think is really exciting and could be something special - if he can get past this injury curse he's suffered as of late.
Out of curiosity, would someone like Conor Stone be your replacement for Bedford (given Jones is injured too) - or do you go with the more proven Lloyd?
Thinking your forward set up for Round 1 is likely something like this:
HF: C. Stone/D. Lloyd, Himmelberg, T. Greene
F: Daniels (if fit), Hogan, Cadman
INT: D. Lloyd/C.Stone
Would that be accurate? Or does someone like Cogs, J. Kelly, Ward play rotating forward - or even Peatling, Riccardi or Flynn as second ruck, play in a taller forward line?
Genuinely curious about how those in the know on here see things going - as losing two gun small forwards and having the other exciting one in Jones injured too, probably changes how you think about setting up.
Thoughts?
I might be going crazy but I can't seem to find the bit in the article that says Jones is injured
Ah yes, although that doesn't seem serious and still seems like he'll be avaliable earlyish in the seasonOnly in the AFL.com.au one - as that article specifically pertains to Bedford
Double hammy hammer blow hits Giants' small forward crop
Ex-Demon Toby Bedford and the luckless Brent Daniels will both be sidelined due to hamstring injurieswww.afl.com.au
"Complicating matters for the Giants is that fellow small forward Darcy Jones, who had emerged as a potential round one bolter after arriving at the club with pick No.21 in last year's NAB AFL Draft, is managing a shoulder injury.
The diminutive Jones has a small fracture in his shoulder and is unlikely to return to full training until next week, ruling him out of the Giants' pre-season practice match against the Suns and forcing an uphill battle to be fit for round one."
Huh, they've changed the content. The version I read said that Jones had a small fracture in his shoulder and was in doubt for round 1, otherwise would likely have been there given the 2 injuries.I might be going crazy but I can't seem to find the bit in the article that says Jones is injured
Every year. Not just the injuries, but we always suffer multiple injuries in the same position. These injuries are a stitch up
