Opie would arrive three hours before the first bounce on match days and work with physical performance boss Luke Meehan to ensure pre-game meetings ran on time.

He was also tasked with choosing which end to kick to should the Tigers win the coin toss.

Opie was hired by former Tigers football manager Garry O’Sullivan in 1999.

It’s believed Hardwick’s top three off-field poaching targets when he joined the Suns were Blair Hartley (Richmond’s general manager of football talent), Danny Daly (Brisbane Lions’ general manager of football) and Hill.

Daly departed Punt Rd at the end of 2014 after a five-year stint under Hardwick as an assistant coach.

While Daly and Hartley stayed put, Hill was lured by Hardwick to the Suns.

Hayden Hill was replaced over summer by highly regarded Champion Data analyst Jacob Wilson.

Long-time Tigers property manager Giuseppe Mamone has also left the club.

U couldn't have said it any better!!!
to be honest I'll crack a 6 pack when gale leaves at the end of the year for tassie

hes destroyed the jumper with massive green red and blue sponsors and created a woke club. we won flags before any of these were implemented so those who have a go can gagf too

You mean the sort of younger person that will f off after a few years for greener pastures like Clarke is about to, Thursfield, Austin, Inness, Caracella, McCrae, Kingsley, Hill and Dimma himself et al have already done.

Balmey could have gone to Adelaide for plenty of extra coin and told them to jam it in the end.
Balme was over 70 at the time of the offer with a health issue. He wasn't going regardless.

do u know what he got sacked for

post it so we can make up our own minds

No

theres always a reason.... true....

But whether that reason is actually worth sacking or not is another question

Its really not up for us to decide anyway.

Even if it wasn’t a good reason itself, maybe it was the last straw.

Maybe it's not up to us, but to get rid of someone who's been there 20+ years, and most people in the footy world speak glowingly of him, then you would hope it was with good reason...
