Got to love Simpson answer to the Violet Crumble.
Not sure if it's just Simpson playing to the Eagles supporter base or genuine but he doesn't mind the odd clip at freo whenever the opportunity presents itself

Vegetarian is one thing. Vegan is rediculous for an athlete. Gazza is on a pretty strict diet I'm
Not sure what it is again but I always wondered what sort of effect it has on his injury recovery. Collagen is very underrated

That's why I said severity of the tear. Size doesn't impact so much for the reasons you mentioned.

Size of the individual though, would have much more of an impact on recovery time. NN is far more built than ceglar- carrying that weight puts that extra pressure on the knee. Compare that to the smaller Bob Murphy, who did his knee in round 3 last year and is already back playing.

I agree though- he is far too important to risk. If he isn't ready this year, then he isn't ready. Better to wait than risk an interrupted preseason going into next year.
I was under the impression that when Nic had his surgery, the Surgeons went over and above (in other words did something to make it stronger) due to Nic's size, so possibly it may take longer before Nic will be ready to play again, compared to the norm? Have no idea of course - just speculating!

Sure that is plan D..................it should not be plan A and plan B and plan C.
Also, the problem with our execution of this was that quite often we went with bombs inside f50 that were very shallow, ie, the contest was around the 40m mark. Defenses had plenty of space and could run the ball our with ease.

I said the Ceglar vegan thing as a joke. I'm sure he eats Subway like the rest of us mortals.

But just on that, Darlings sweet as diet that Bazil was banging on about looks like it did **** all for him last season.

His second best ever goal haul in a season (his first was when he was the lone forward when Kennedy went down), but yeah sure he did nothing last year

Considering his biggest flaw from 2015 was his disastrous grand final appearance, the non negotiable improvement everyone wanted to see from him in 2016 was standing up under the spotlight and performing on the big stage...

Fast forward to his next finals appearance and he pulls out of a marking contest, plays on stupidly in front of goal during a crucial moment and gets pinged HTB. Despite having the tools to mark a big mark on the competition, he's improvement has tapered off over the years.

I think people are still more concerned with that rather than hearing how many goals he kicked

I think your criticism of Darling is somewhat over the top. Certainly, his 2015 GF performance was not great but he was no orphan. I find it hard to remember who was good, Sheppard possibly. Naitanui was ordinary, Kennedy didn't get near the ball, Lecras was horrible, Masten was worse, I could just about go through the whole team. From my POV the focus on Darling is unwarranted and unfair, he made a couple of bad mistakes and people such as you are going on and on about it. Kennedy was not good in these games but you are not going on about him. I think Jack is a very impressive and tough player, even more so considering his relatively young age.
WC are in a strong position having two quality KPFs, most teams are not in this position, and most commentators, including Victorians, acknowledge this.

Barass, Cole, Giles, Schofield, Allen, Mitchell, sheed all working away from the main group

Barrass has strapping to the top of his left leg

40 min of slow jogging around the boundary and some basic skill work and it looks like we're done

Simpson having a chat with Giles

Wellingham snapping at goals still

Petrie set shot practice looks like he'll be last off the track

Probably justifying playing two non fulltime rucks over him.
