Problem is that the "anything" that he might most want his being close to home and family.
Bring them here then
Nas is premiership player material.

We need players like Nas for that premiership.

Lose players like that. May as well fold the joint. Won't be winning a flag ever.

The ball
May you please give some insight saintmike65 of who performed excellent ? and what stood out ?
Was Hunter training?
Any other injury concerns from yesterday?
Ball movement was very good, they’re focusing on quick movement & getting the ball into the runners hands that can hit targets…obvious ones are Nas, Sinclair, Arie, Hill, Stocker, Wilson, Wood, McRae, Webster etc.
Of the players yet to make their mark, I really like Hall as I’ve previously mentioned, Keeler does sublime things, McLennan and O’Connell are progressing nicely and Dobson will be a fine ruckman.
No, Hunter isn’t in full training yet but should be soon, along with Henry, Caminiti and fingers crossed Tauru.
King and Owens look like they’re in for terrific seasons…both taking strong marks & using their body strength to out manoeuvre opponents.

Clark should be right for second praccy and round 1 too so don't discount him

Steele Macrae Clark Windy Henry/Hall should be solid enough with Garcia as further depth before Pou returns. Can always roll Sincs through if we need pace and slot Arie/Hastie in at half back
Jones?

Jones injured his calf this week so depends on severity of that but yeah would be in the conversation although I think we'd play Garcia ahead of him. I also prefer him as a predominant winger with sporadic cbas - that's where he did his best work in 2024
Jones and Clark are perennially injured…tough decision imminent end of season

“Dougal will undergo surgery next week to secure the joint,” EGM Football David Misson said.

“Dougal is now looking at about 12 weeks of rehab, which is a significant period, but one we know he’ll approach with professionalism.

Club hasn't said it's a reconstruction surgery.

They are different versions of a reconstruction depending on the damge, but you can be sure he is having a shoulder reco. Plus since when have the club been realistic about a players return dates. We can hope for 3 months but it will be more like 6 garuanteed.

Yeah I think Jones is close to the end - all his injuries are soft tissue which is never good and he's expendable as we try to get games into youth

Clark has been super unlucky with contact injuries - although this time its a groin - there's still hope he can maybe turn it around. Main thing against him is that if we bring in a Callaghan/LDU/Brayshaw/star mid then he'd have to either settle with being pure depth on little money or do a Coffield and take his injuries elsewhere

Jones is getting on and seems to have re-occurring soft tissue injuries. So yeah.
Clark seems to get hit in the head a lot, for all i know its Saints fans on big footy doing it.
I mean its not a great head, but i wouldn't hit it for no reason.

Arrrgh sullied by Akaifu.

Turn Schoenmaker into a Trent McKenzie type Full Back with a cannon. If he can compete and defend talls he'll be far far more valuable to us

On Pixel 6a using BigFooty.com mobile app
He’s more likely to be used in a sweeping role, turning defence into attack..similar to how Bonner was used last year

No, they aren’t the same kind of surgery at all. Reconstruction surgery rebuilds the actual ligaments whilst stabilisation involves preventing the joint from popping out with anchors. Reconstructions on average have twice the recovery time as stabilisations.

I'd throw Ro back there before Hammer to Doug's tall role. He's been pretty good when swung back there and bring in Boyd to Ruck. Or try Keeler down back.
We might end up with Ro out too so Boyd Keeler then.

That's a play on words the generic term is shoulder reconstruction. Refer the following link Shoulder Stabilisation is still 6 months or more recovery.

Shoulder Stabilisation Surgery

Stabilisation surgery (shoulder “reconstruction”) is performed under general anaesthetic and usually via a keyhole (arthroscopic) technique.

I reckon the club has actually been pretty good getting the injury timelines right over the last few years. Dougal is a player that often heals quickly too. Really doubt they'd be six months off on the timeline.

Among us fans, I bet a lot would now say, if pressed to name their favorite player, it might be NAS.

And it’s a bit strange, because we barely know him. He is enigmatic. He is not like a Travis Head type ‘bloke’ who has obvious flaws and just bashes his way forward. He is still a mystery.

Don’t think bringing in Tomlinson as a stop gap is the worst idea
With so many changes over the years
Don’t think bringing in Tomlinson as a stop gap is the worst idea
Prefer others in racing parlance if we were to go old.

I'd prefer someone who's got something to prove.

Will Hoare from Essendon VFL? 197cm KPD. Good intercept numbers in the VFL in 2024 in a breakout season. Sounds like he got very close to a list spot. Wilkes to take a late bloomer under his wing?
