Hopefully. But again, we just don't know. Like Michell, It can flare up and get worse. But Nick, being younger, might help his cause.

We just have to wait and see. He won't be able to run, probably will take some time off legs and hope the pain subsides, then try to attempt running if he is pain free.
But these things are unpredictable.
They'll put him in an anti-gravity treadmill and gradually increase the weight.

Really not ideal. I hope it’s super mild and everything goes smoothly. He’s one player we can’t have missing games. Fingers crossed.

While you wouldn't want him or anyone missing games, I think we have a deeper squad to cover for more injuries. You don't want to be carlton and rely on a player or two. Injuries happen in sport.

But there is time between now and opening round to get it right, as long as it doesn't get worse. If there is anyone that will do everything to get it fixed, it'll be Nick.

Again, is there any statement from the club?
Severity
Treatment?
Timeline etc?

It appears that this news, rightly or wrongly, has stressed a number of supporters
A quick statement wouldn’t hurt

How is this possible

The new year has barely started and we already have:

- Nick with an injury that will hamper his season
Typically a 4 week injury. Ongoing PF is typically the exception not the norm.
- Mitchell with an injury that will hamper his season
Possibly, but we don’t want to be relying on Mitchell at this point anyway
- De Goey carrying an injury that looks likely to hamper his season
Still recovering from last year, so I’m not sure why you’re acting in a “how does this happen” manner on that one.
- Josh with a calf

Literally 4 of our most important players already compromised. Like…what’s going on down there. These aren’t “freak accident” type injuries like McStay’s finger or ACL. This has to be load/management stuff
Have you considered that the 3 outside of Jordy might have overdone things themselves? It’s easy to blame the fitness staff but you have 3 guys who are known to be exceptionally hard trainers who have gained injuries after off season “breaks”. Perhaps they weren’t resting as much as they should have been over those breaks..?

They just don’t cut it.
I’ve worn orthotics for 20 years after my issues.
They need be held tight to your foot.
I don’t wear any thongs, sandles or even elastic sided boots. Hate walking barefoot and I have very sensitive souls now.
Merrel water shoes have been very good, but they’re ugly.

I can't believe I'm saying it, Crocs have been very good aswell.

Have to lessen Nicks Training Load to Manage it?

This. Imagine following up one of the most fun seasons as a supporter to winning the flag.

My mates don’t believe me when I say the 2024 season didn’t bother me but it honestly didn’t.
100%. I was pretty much nonplussed last year in a way. Back to back would have been awesome but we never really had any momentum all season. The pride they showed in the last month gives me confidence the naysayers that spew the “too old, too slow” dribble might be dumber than Luke Sayers. I’d rather a few injuries in early January than early March. We’ll be fine. I’m pumped to see Houston spearing missiles to a choice of KPFs with Bobby and co at their feet
