Why don't you have a go?

You've had a crack at two other posters attempts, let's see yours. Do you rate Hawthorn outside the bottom four? :D
Alright...

1. West Coast- they will break history and become the first team since the 1910/20's to win the flag after a narrow loss
2. Geelong- any West Coast flag must feature Feelong somehow
3. St.Kilda- will finish just short again; there running short on time..Crunch time is comming
4. Sydney- Will have a short hang over at the start of the season, but it will come together later on in the season
5. Western Bulldogs- exciting team; that will continue to build under the watchful eye of Rodney Eade..who I do rate
6. Adelaide- I feel they played a little out of there skins last year; may settle a bit. Massive home ground advantage should get them there
7. Brisbane- I feel there old guard still have a good year in them. If they get to the finals...watch out!
8. Fremantle- Connoly is playing for his job and has a good rapour with the players. I have a gut feeling they will make it
9. Kangaroos- I just have doubts about them. I know they have "topped up" but is Hay a good replacement for Colbert? Will Rawlings re capture his 2003 form? It's either going to be a top 5 season or a terrible season. 9th is a "on the fence" position
10. Melbourne- Without any great deal of confidence I see Melbourne finishing 10th. It's crunch time, and I'm not sure they have the talent across the board to threaten for a premiership. Often these are the soughts of years that decide the playing groups position. 7th and 8th...something has got to give
11. Port Adelaide- Will continue to graduly decline. It's going to be a great test of Williams coaching ability to see how he will handle the aging list.
12. Collingwood- Toss up between Collingwood, Hawthorn and Essendon for the next 3 positions. If Rocca fires they might be in the race for a 7-11 place. But this appears a safe bet. Could do with the kids from the super draft.
13. Hawthorn- probably biased getting the better of me; but I think we can expect a slight improvement. Clarkson's contract is up for consideration half way through the season, along with a favourable draw early on, expect an improvment..all be it with a bout of the "2nd year Blues"
14. Essendon- I think its " the poor year they must have" for future development. Sheedy will prevent a poor finish..may have a respectable 6-7 win season.
15. Richmond- They are definately on the right track and they will be a much better side in the future..but Wallace did hint at a little let down next season; simular to Carlton's 2005. Richmond have a much better list then Carlton but I just think they may have a little slow down. Perhaps only for 1 year. Porbably will finish with a respectable 6-7 win season
16. Carlton- They do have some decent kids, but I just think they need another year to get more kids.

You Bullied him into it with ease, now stop picking of the weak ones!:D

Gawd some people have no idea.

1 St Kilda
2 West Coast
3 Geelong
4 Adelaide
5 Western Bulldogs
6 Sydney
7 Fremantle
8 Brisbane
----------------------
9 Kangaroos
10 Melbourne
11 Richmond
12 Port Adelaide
13 Hawthorn
14 Essendon
15 Collingwood
16 Carlton

To be honest in this ladder it is very difficult to predict as we dont know about issues such as injuries and suspensions (especially to big Brownie in Brisbane). Although like everyone else I reckon Carlton are sure to be last next season (but we said that about Hawthorn in 2005 and they didnt).

However I reckon there will be a bolter from one of the bottom 3 sides in 2005 but I cannot see it being Carlton. Given the rebuiding process at Hawthorn and the overall improvement in skills with many players (skill levels have improved since the same period last year) I reckon they could win between 7 to 10 games next season but if they had of played more games at the G next year I would of increased this by 2 or 3 more wins . Collingwood will improve and it was hard to decide who would finish 14/15 between Essendon and Collingwood. Both sides will finish with 6 to 9 wins next season.

Essendon supporters dont rip me apart however I believe that your side has a number of issues at the moment especially due to your poor drafting between 1999 and 2003. Good draft choices from this period would now be expected to step up in most clubs as they would be aged between 21 and 24. I think you lack quality here will hurt you next season. As we all know most first season players generally suffer second year blues and I reckon the expectations of the kids from 2005 to play at the same level as they did in 2005 will ensure that 70% of them will struggle with 2nd year blues next year.

St Kilda and West Coast are without a doubt the Port / Brisbane from 2001 to 2004 and both of this sides will share the premiership honours in the next 2 to 3 seasons. The reason I believe St Kilda will finish top is that they now have a better fitness specialist at the club and hopefully with better player management they will have a better chance to keep their players on the park. The quality at Geelong is also good and they will give the sides above them a bit of a scare if they can play consistant footy throughout the season

Sydneys 2005 will be a one off. They have talented players but their list is nowhere near as good as sides above them in my predicted 2006 ladder and I reckon both Freo and Brisbane will finish in the top 8 if injuries go their way.

Western Bulldogs list is simply too talented to ignore although injuries to key players will prevent them making the top 4. They will get their but not next season.

The decision to top up by Dean Ladley will hurt the Kangaroos and they will miss out on the 8 next season. Richmond will the Western Bulldogs of 2006 and continue to improve when both Nathan Brown and Richo are playing. They have some good kids however they will not make the 8 next season. 2007 could be the year they begin to climb if they can keep their current list together. Both of these sides will win about 11 games.

Port Adelaide - well when the coach tells his supporters that they will not be a real contender for at least 3 seasons then you know they have some serious issues. I reckon they will fall in a heap next year if this attitude doesnt change and they could be the Essendon of 2005 (expected to make the 8 but crashed to the bottom 4) They do have some quality players and barring any major injuries it will these few players that will keep their head above water. I was so close to putting them below Essendon and Collingwood on my 2006 ladder but I think the 11 games in Adelaide will stop this from happening.

Well the above is my personal opinion and it may upset many people (especially supporters from Collingwood, Essendon and Port) but I reckon they have shown glimpes in 2005 of what is in store from them in 2006.

Yes I am a Hawthorn supporter but I try to be as unbiased as possible as I live in WA and must say I love it when any Vic side screws the Eagles (oh gawd how I hate them - and I work for one of their major sponsors - oh woe is me) and I have the Wet Toast second on my predicted ladder.

1. Geelong. Clearly, we'll win the flag
2. West Coast. Scarlo to take a big mark in the dying seconds. Double jeopardy!
3. Sydney. Going well until a 2 point loss to the Cats at the G in the prelim with 0.000036 of a second on the clock.
4. Adelaide. Top of the ladder until the Roo punches out someone and out they go again.
5. Melbourne. Redlegs 5 has me convinced with his objective arguements.
6. Brisbane. Will prove to be an exciting team next year as they are in, out, in, out,in, out of the eight. Will win a final then it's bye bye bears.
7. St Kilda. After having 19 players out with injuries they come roaring back only to lose their first final at the Gabbatoir.
8. Port. They remain in the eight after winning all twelve games at Girlee Stadium and losing all ten away.

9. Fremantle. Middle of the ladder again as Medhurst and Farmer can't kick a goal outside WA all season. Pav to do his back carrying the whole team.
10. Kangaroos. With a harder draw than last year, the Roos are caught on the hop. Losing twice to Carlton doesn't help their cause as they are left feeling a little blue.
11. Richmond. Outmarks every team in the comp but falls short as they keep kicking it to the opposition.
12. Bulldogs. Back in the kennell as the young pups believe the hype and the BF boards.
13. Essendon. Soft draw but unfortunately soft team. A lack of big men holds them back after Sheedy's medicos are unable to untangle Bradley, Laycock and Fletcher in the unfortunate 'twister' incident in time for the traditonal late season recovery.
14. Collingwood. Going well until Anthony Rocca decides to take a punt on American football. Didak retires mid season after failing to kick a goal against Geelong.
15. Hawthorn. Hawthorn stay put as they delist everyone over the age of 22 in order to be a force in 2012.
16. Carlton. Cos they're hella crap.

The only thing more ridiculous than my comments above is the notion of predicting the ladder at Christmas time. 5hit, I can't even pick a winner let alone the ladder.

Merry Christmas. Cheers.

Geelong will finish Top 4, and the Bulldogs won't.

I find it hard to believe that some people think the Bulldogs are a better side than Geelong.

That's really funny, especially after we blew you out of the water last season. I look forward to winning by more this season.

But I suppose you'll still be the better team.....

Yes because we generally can't win away

(we've won something like 33 away games in the last 5 years)

How many last year champ? Your 2002-2004 form won't help you much next year big fella.

Funny?

Of course they are the better team.

When was the last time you finished above them on the ladder?

Flippin' burgers are we?

try this on for size...

1. West Coast - classy midfield overcomes forwardline deficiencies, but I seriously doubt their ability to win a flag.
2. Geelong - Brad Ottens could be the difference between a Geelong premiership and another year of heartbreak. if Ottens turns it on and they keep their key personnel on the park, Geelong could break the drought. if not, the premiership window could be slammed in their faces.
3. St. Kilda - like West Coast, their midfield quality is high. unlike West Coast, their backline is laughable. taking Austinn Jones and Luke Penny out of an already shaky backline might have just signed GT's death warrant.
4. Sydney - the hunters become the hunted. don't be fooled though, this list is good enough to win another flag - and the worst thing for opposition coaches is, there's not 'magic code' to crack. who's willing to play the intelligent, hard working football needed to stop the Swans?
5. Brisbane - 2005 was the year they had to have, but the long term benefits more than make up for short term pain. form is temporary...
6. Essendon - my 2006 wildcard. Camporeale and Heffernan add depth, their kids are high quality and Hird/Lloyd are genuine matchwinners. write them off at your peril.
7. Adelaide - may struggle as teams work out how to starve the Crows' forwardline of opportunities, should still figure though.
8. Melbourne - it's an even year, of course Melbourne are going to make the eight. I doubt they can take the next step under Daniher however.

9. Western Bulldogs - 2006 is not the year, will win more than they lose however.
10. Kangaroos - they'll be thereabouts, as always, but I have serious doubts about the Kangaroos' ability to challenge when push comes to shove. they'll probably prove me wrong (again), but I just can't see Laidley pulling it off this year.
11. Carlton - if Fevola can get it together, anything is possible. if he can't, we might be destined for 2005 mkII. I'm leaning towards the latter, but the list isn't good enough to vault Carlton above the lower-midfield.
12. Fremantle - they'll show glimpses, again. they'll achieve the seemingly impossible, again. they'll put in some stunning displays, again. but the sad fact for Freo fans is, they'll lose games they shouldn't lose, again. have we over-rated the list, or is Connolly really THAT bad? either way, 2006 is going to be a defining year at Freo, for better or worse.
13. Richmond - another 8-10 wins would be satisfactory in 2006 as Wallace tinkers with the future setup.
14. Hawthorn - the Hawks should take some big strides forward in 2006 (surely they aren't going to tank AGAIN?). 'potential' doesn't win football games though, as Clarkson and his fanbase will find out.
15. Port Adelaide - the top end quality is largely still there, but Port have probably missed an opportunity to begin the inevitable rebuild. if any team is going to make me look silly in 2006, it's probably Port, but I feel they're on a one way trip downward, can Williams survive it?
16. Collingwood - don't be fooled, even a full strength Collingwood team is rubbish. blame injuries if it makes you feel better, but this list is one of the worst in the AFL, and the rebuild has barely begun.
