Preliminary Final #1: Hawthorn v Adelaide - Pre-Match

Adelaide will get annihilated. I think Freo would have too if we had snared the win tonight. The margin really depends on how much Hawthorn want to take their foot off the pedal to conserve energy for the grand final.

I'm predicting the unusual start time will throw the Hawks off and the Crows will win by 53 points.

The only thing that will throw them off is if they think it's a night game and don't show up.

The Crows have been good but will find i to hard to stop the Hawks scoring a ton next week, and despite Walkers efforts there not got the fire power to match it.

Alright, now that Freo's out, just hoping for a good Grand Final, and for the two best teams to battle it out...
But who's the two best teams?
It seems to just be

Hawthorn

Sydney, Collingwood, West Coast

Adelaide
If it comes to a Hawks/Swans GF I wouldn't be putting so much double spacing after Hawthorn. I think more than a few Hawks fans would be nervous, as we seem to have their measure better than a lot of teams do. We made them look very ordinary when we thumped them in Tassie, and only lost by 7 points the second time.

Of course, we still have to make the GF, and if we don't, and it's any of the other teams, Hawks' odds may well firm.

I am hoping for Hawthorn - Sydney, but am sort of worried because the Swans can't really play the 'G.
Hawks and Swans are the two in form teams right now nonetheless, and I think we just need to pray Collingwood doesn't make the Grand Final, they're the only real team that will definitely get annihilated on the day.

Hmmm the Crows were underrated like this in 97, and no one thought they'd beat North in 98.

Anything can happen.

The Hawks might come out a bit rusty from the long break, and Adelaide might be hot early and slam on goals quickly.

Hawks by 158 points. ;)

Random friend of a friend story (so take it with a grain of salt)
Guy i know was chatting to the Hawks runner who was saying 1-2 of the Hawks players have already started planning a victory party for the MOnday after the GF.

Hopefully the players are taking the Crows lightly and the Crows can jump them and get some momentum and make a game of it.

That's just arrogant and stupid.

Doubt it's true though.

Hawk players will have a full week of all and sundry - in the media, on the street, within their friends - telling them they are shoe-ins.....

If the Crows can burst out of the blocks - ie Fremantle/Geelong - with 5/6 goals doubts nd fear might creep into the Hawks players....

The club psychologist will be hard at work thats for sure.

Srs mocking is srs. Obviously we will be out of our depth hitting a Hawthorn team at their peak. Anything can happen but happy to make the prelim off the back of last season.

A mate of mine in SA tells me the Crows players are already looking for an open top double decker bus for their premiership victory parade through Adelaide.

See, I can make up shit too.
