Deliberate out of bounds against OGs in last 2 minutes was costly and then missed one to OGs a minute later was even more costly.

Haileybury people saying DeLa player was stiff to be reported. Leader, your mate old #9 on the receiving end. Was in the last 5 minutes apparently.

Just saw it. Throw it out now. Should have been a 50metre penalty. No one should kiss a game for that.

Just watched the last 5 minutes.

1st deliberate. Stiff but on the wing. No impact on the result.
2nd deliberate (not paid). Almost on the wing. Wet ball, played it brilliantly. Correct decision.

Block in ruck correct call again.

OG's No. 24 needed to keep the ball in instead on knocking it through for a rushed behind.

Kick after the siren. He marked 52 metres out, kicking with a wet ball and into a strong wind. Excellent attempt. Fell 4-5 metres short.

Where was it wet , not at Box Hill

Agree, poor report. Luckily they had vision.
Still can’t understand how a player gets off a head butt charge with no video.

Didn’t OJ get off. Doesn’t mean his innocent.

But he dominated on the weekend coz when he plays football he can seriously play.

De La left it really late.

Good luck to the De La player who badly breaking his leg in the ressies today.

The game had to be called off. Even the most one eyed OI supporter would agree that the game was already over.

Both clubs met in the middle , shook hands, and let the ambo’s do their job.

I bet your breathing a little easier.
A nervous few minutes as the txt msg updates were coming thru, that's for sure!

Cracking last qtr on VAFA TV replay.

OT with a couple early ones, then an arm-wrestle for the rest of the last. #2 from OT in everything.

In the last few minutes, the cream rose to the top with Jake Williams kicking an important set shot, then nailing one on the run after the boys took some risks bringing it through the middle from the backline.

OT had a chance to snatch back the lead very late, but the 'Hand of God Healy' touched a long shot on the goal-line. OT no doubt wishing the VAFA had goal-line technology.

From the kickout DLS got the ball over the top and, as time expired, Indi ran into an open goal to celebrate with the De La faithful!

How do the neutral observers think the grand final will pan out? OH would have to be favourites- they are red hot at the right time, however DLS have been brilliant through the second half of the season. Ill go with the favourites

FWIW lucky for the VAFA De La were already in front when Indovino kicked the last goal as that was after the siren!
Williams last qtr was huge.
OH too much firepower and become the B grade premier specialists

I'm not a neutral and sincerely hope I am wrong but OH have just too much top end talent and front half firepower. Based on talent alone they should win comfortably but I guess you just never know. OH are an 'A' grade team but not an 'A' grade club and their lack of depth will likely see them bounce between the grades once again.

Trinity the dominant side all year in the 2s and sadly i expect my club will also be the bridesmaid in the early game.

From the footage, which may have been recorded by a camera & mic located close to the siren, it definitely appears that Indi kicked the ball after the siren sounded.

The quarter doesn't end though until the ump hears the siren, so I can understand why it was paid a goal.

had de la winning the flag over haileybury from pre season. may end up changing my mind tonight but if any side can beat haileybury when it counts its going to be the boys from the dairy bell

The Big One

OH v DLS

Firstly congratulations to both sides in making the grand final and being promoted to Premier A. At the start of the season both clubs would've had that as their prime objective in 2024. As both camps have said this week, promotion is for the club, premierships are for the players.

1-1 through the H&A and a convincing win to OH in week 1 of the finals to ensure the week off. De La went the long way round and were saved by some individual brilliance in the last quarter and a perfectly positioned Goal Umpire.

For me this game won't be about tactics as both sides know each other very well, it will simply comedown to who can put the better 4 quarters together and control the ball through the centre of the ground at Trevor Barker. OH have clearly been the best side all season, they go in as deserved favs and will be better for the week off. De La stormed into premiership favouritism with 2-3 rounds left, but since then they have been a shadow of their former selves. Petrol is back up at $2 a litre and I feel they may not have enough cash to purchase the additional tickets to get them over the line.

A previous poster mentioned the OH fire power fwd of the ball, if any team can stop it or match it themselves it is De La. An opportunity to win a senior flag doesn't present itself very often and on Sunday it will be OH who are presented with the cup. Let's hope the weather, the umpires and the wind aren't a determining factor in the match itself.

Final Verdict: OH by 23 points.

Magoos

OT v DLS

The hedge burners have had the best depth all season across Premier B, being able to bring players into their senior side who are up to the level. With the bitter taste of defeat lingering in the mouths of some, they will be hungry for more as they drop back to benchmark grade.

De La were clinical in reaching the GF and while the game was called off early in disturbing circumstances I'm of the opinion that that was their GF. The players are spent after a long season and they will give their all, unfortunately Trinity will be too strong after HT.

Final Verdict: OT by 19 points

The end of season review on the 4 finalists will come next week, after that I'll be signing off the Prem B thread and heading to Prem A in 2025.

Nathan Brown has left OG's to go back to OM's. Will HQ schedule this clash for Round 1?
