Given he's a FS and looking like someone we can get at a discount, can we slip a Burgo program on the sly?

He’s been training with the crows lads with the AFL’s blessing already… you’d have to think Burgess would’ve pulled him aside and already spoken to him in the days he’s been there and given him a few goals to aim toward..

Given this.. I dont think there’s any need to really need to do it on the sly.. if Burgess has written a program for Tyler, then burgess, and the club, may request that Tyler keep it to himself.. don’t go sharing the tricks of the trade and secrets of one of the comps best fitness guru’s with anyone!..

If he doesn’t play league footy this year, it means he can play for our reserves in 2024.

I assume that means he train with us as well.
So if he only plays reserves for WWT then it’s all ok for us to grab him in 2024 to play for our SANFL side?.. but if he plays just 1 league game, or more, for WWT this year we can’t?..

I thought this was how the rule was written but wasn't sure whether playing reserves also would exclude us from grabbing him..

it’s still a shit rule.. even though it’s better than the SANFL ruling it out altogether..

crows don’t have these lower grade teams so players that are potential F/S have to go start playing for other SANFL clubs.. so they get stuck there if they show too much!..

the kid should be allowed to play for anyone he wants ffs..

he wants to play league for WWT this season?.. sure go ahead. if everything points to him getting picked by the crows as a F/S next year so he decides he’d like to go play for their SANFL side in 2024. Then.. Why not?..

I hate everything about the SANFL except actually watching our young players play, that alone easily justifies me paying the yearly subscription.. but the way that league is run and the way it treats the crows and port on (umpiring) and off the field is a fxxkn joke..

Yes I believe so.

What I’m not sure about if his games can be shared between both clubs.
If playing every game in the SANFL in 2024 is too much for him, can he go back to WWT reserves/u18?

I would guess is yes, but if he does, can we bring him to play for our reserves again later in the year? Probably not.

I’m still not completely sold on this lad..

love his story and how he is clearly punching well above his weight..

just that I thought he had very clean skills up until the last few games of the 2022 season when some pretty basic mistakes and poor turnovers crept into his game..

happy to put it down to him maybe being fatigued at the end of a long season and playing a role in a defence that was often under siege.

hope he can keep improving but, like I said, jury is still out IMO..
i dont think hes best 22/23

Has apparently gone next level this pre season so looks a likely starter for round 1

I rate this.. I dont know why but I was a bit worried that they didnt really see this kid as a long term prospect.. just a “grab him as a rookie and see if something happens in the next year or two” type drafting..

This shows they are invested in this kid.. and thats exciting because the lads can play and has real good footy smarts..

Also seems to have a close bond with Rachele and Soligo who have also committed. Good signs.

They didnt grab him as a rookie. They rated him so high that they were worried that he would be gone by their first rookie pick. So they used a pick in the pre season draft before the rookie draft.

His improvement throughout the SANFL year was pretty impressive.

Won't be upset with extensions for Taylor and Worrell either, hopefully early as well.

Thats right.. I stand corrected..

It was a couple of hours before the Rookie draft they did that.. I remember it now.. we all thought they did that because they mustve got wind of another club (pies?) that had a pick before us in the rookie draft being interested in him..

I am on the other side of this one.

PP is an example of the type of footballer I think we need and will learn to love.

Super smart, super reliable, high level disposal, clean and hard at it.
