Thanks. Do we like him or hate him?
He is a pretty strong figure, I like him.

Is a Norwood guy, came across to the club and several people thought he was an "SANFL Insider" who was sent to basically re-brand our club.

Has proven himself so far, to be very good.

This will easily be his biggest challenge though.

If it was Gale, you'd be singing a different tune.
Well it's not, he's an employee, not our President, and I think he'd be able to finish a speech.
Harsh, but fair.
Could have used that opportunity to present a firm direction for the club, but now everyone sees them as a blubbering mess because he couldnt talk about his wife or the bootstudder without crying uncontrollably
Sorry if that offends, but that's the way it is

I think the problem the club has, but automatically removing the option to re-brand you are effectively limiting what can be done.

sure, re-branding might not be the best option, but surely it has to be an option that is assessed?

from the outside, limiting a review to the parts you want to address really isn't going to help

Tony Shaw did the same thing when coaching one of his last games at Collingwood, put the entire team behind the ball at the center bounce.

And this is a guy who gets a job as a football commentator doing special comments...

I agree,

Its something that should at least be assessed. Port supporters won't like hearing that, I don't either mind you.

Personally, I don't see as something which will change anything.

In reality it might not, but it is better to have explored the option.

but the thing is your club needs more people like you at board level - hopefully they hear things they don't want to do, but also do things they may not actually like doing but are for the betterment of the club.

I guess when it comes down to it, do the board do what is best for the Port Power football club or the License held by the Port Adelaide football club - that is where it becomes very different.

Keith Thomas good honest player at Fitzroy. Has conducted himself well in this press conference. Looks like he is up for the challenger and Port fans should be pleased he is doing the hard yards.

One point he made and I as an outsider looking in tend to agree with is that Port's high draft pics just can't get on the field due to constant injuries. Hartlett - Pittard are two that come to mind. Both very promising players who need to be playing week in and week out. Clearly Port don't have the resources of say a Collingwood and that is always going to make it hard for the coaching staff. Primuss was rebuilding and making the difficult decisions on players and i hope that is remembered in time.

The AFL need to give Port a shitload of money so they can lure Mick Malthouse to the club and give him a decent football department. Don't see how that is any different to giving other clubs like GC and GWS huge leg ups. I can't see how Port can get through this without assistance.

That's just the way the AFL works these days, maximise revenue by giving clubs like Collingwood maximum exposure to generate the dollars. The profits are then handed out to the poorer clubs. Not saying it's wrong or right, it's just the way it is.

Hartlett, Pittard, Moore, Butcher, Jacobs, Newton from the past three drafts alone.

Still though, alot of that comes down to our fitness guy Cam Falloon.

He will be gone.

He'll only be there for four games. Even if Port (somehow) won all four, he wouldn't stay on after what happened with Primus.

Rhode needs to piss off now too.

Strange times.

SANFL did a good job appointing Keith Thomas.

His review sounds like it will be a real one, so much deadwood at the Power that needs to be cut out. Does not sound like the token review done there a few years ago.

The players should feel the pain as well. Their gutless effort against GWS is the catalyst for all this. Sure Primus may be a poor coach, no denying that, but had the players put in even a token effort they would not have lost. It was well known that Craigy had lost the players and it showed in his final game as coach, and yet it is still said the players were behind Primus.....I doubt that.

Signs are that the club will go some real change, a good thing.
